Boy you know you are screwed when you are in a town called Quarzite.

I would ditch the bike and get a bus ticket to the new job.

If you don't have any money how do you expect to fix the bike?????

I burnt a hole in a cylinder on a Yamaha 650 just outside of Palm Springs, headed for Houston.

I'd send him 20 bucks if I had a way...

No plan, no skills, no back up plan, no money, no friends, no time, no job.

I'd feel bad for the situation he put himself in. Good luck buddy.

Some kind soul named Beaver Sheppard from the North America Biker Rescue page has apparently loaded Kyle and his bike up in his pickup.

Cool. That's a long ride from AZ to OR.

Coming from a place (Central Cal) that's been over 100 degrees for nearly a month straight...the heat makes all problems seem multiple times worse. It sucks.

I've been to Quarzite for some Navy weapons testing. It's where they tested the Phalanx Gatling gun.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPdNMrDeeVo

One radar system tracks the target, one tracks the bullets...

In the test I saw, they fired a dummy missile at the Phalanx and it proceeded to destroy the missile, then each remaining piece of the missile until it ran out of bullets.

Quarzite is not the place I would want to be broke down.

I met a squid that got shot by a Phalanx and lived.
It hit him in the tricep as he was running for cover.
They were doing a live fire exercise. From what I remember, they were flying a drone next to a line of ships that took shots at it as it went by.
They started to turn the column of ships when the last ship that was still turning opened fire spraying the ship he was on.
His arm looked like someone took a fillet knife to it. Twas nasty.
I don't remember how many sailors died but I'm sure he still has nightmares from it.

Glad to hear the rider found a ride!
