I know it's a bit early but Two Wheels gets booked up early in the year so we need to think about throwing a dart at the fall calendar.Talking with Jenni today at lunch,the weekends of October 6-7,October 20-21 and all of November are open at this time. What do ya'll think? | ||

Brad,no matter what weekend we have it October through early November,it will still be relatively close to Barber.There is nothing we can do about that.The potential for cold weather later in November limits how late we can go in that month.I understand the need for separation with those needing to schedule vacation.We have always had this event in this general time frame and Barber has always had the same date. | ||

I know, Mike- my year and finances have to shape up a LOT better anyway, before I can do much more than just ride out and back from the house. We shall see... In the meantime, every so often Vern and I have discussed putting on a shindig here in E. TN... never can tell about us Buell nuts. | ||

"You'd better have a good BBQ joint lined up... I know we've got several here in E TN, very good, but it'll be a tall order to match or beat Jim's Smokin' Butts!!! I know the owner of Sweet P's BBQ and Soul House just up the road, between Mur-vil and Knoxville... on a marina, and he hosts live music pretty often, VERY cool place. Has a huge collection of 1982 World's Fair memorabilia to boot. East Knox has some notable soul-food joints... http://www.sweetpbbq.com/ If it ever comes to pass, I'd vote a DIY effort. Been a while since I ran my smoker... did a good brisket once, but overran the time a bit. Still good, but the following weekend we made a KILLER batch of chili!! Oh yeah, remembered something! Hey Mike, didja make it to TWoS for the "Legends" get-together after April Buells weekend?? Can I haz some pics?! If you didn't make it or take pics, is there a site from someone who did? Thanks in advance, buddy... That's one of the reasons I've got Barber Vintage Days on my bucket list... dang if I don't LOVE me some old/custom/kewl/irregular MC'S and riders!! Not to mention Barber itself... it'd be so cool to run WFO for a couple of laps on my old Beemer... | ||

I'm good with Oct 20-21. MotoGP at Motegi Japan - sounds like win/win. We can watch them give Marc Marquez another Samurai sword. He should have the championship sewn up by then. | ||

Changed the title Mike. The picture in my profile is at Fort Mountain. When the white men showed up, they asked the Cherokee who built it, they said it has always been there. I've not hiked the whole "wall" yet, it seems to go on and on... Fort Mountain is right next to the property. | ||

Fort Mountain is right next to the property. I'm assuming you're on the Chatsworth side. Whenever I head to Ellijay I always take hwy 2 to 411 to Eton, then turn left and take the back roads to Fort Mountain. I come out at the gas station before the first turn. In fact I accidentally went that way this year to Suches! I went South on the wrong hwy. 74! I had never heard of the wall. I'll ask my friends about it. Any weekend is good for me, way too far ahead for me to plan... but thinking about a pick-'em-up-truck with a sportbike on the back rather than Xena... Though Xena was soooo comfortable... Then again, if it's early October, can we watch the Bathurst 1000?? |
