Where is the F-35 made?

I asked because it seemed like the fact that Linda McMahon was photographed sitting in the cockpit of an F-35 somehow equated to Lockheed-Martin being considered a "small" business. (BTW, Marillyn Hewson was an early, and continues to be, staunch supporter of President Trump and his economic strategy re: making America great again. I find it interesting, considering recent news, that Harley-Davidson didn't seem to be represented at the WH yesterday...).

Back to the question: Energy Sec. Rick Perry is pictured above holding a Beck Cowboy Boot (made in Amarillo, Texas). If he turned that boot over, would crude oil pour out? : )

The event yesterday was to showcase products (and, by extension, the producers) that are Made In America.

I'm betting there is a FBI taskforce investigating felony leaks. Very, very quietly.

quote:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions Delivers Remarks at Briefing on Leaks of Classified Materials Threatening National Security
Department of Justice
Office of Public Affairs
August 4th, 2017

[snip]

First, let me say I strongly agree with the President and condemn in the strongest terms the staggering number of leaks undermining the ability of our government to protect this country. Just yesterday, we saw reports in the media about conversations the President had with foreign leaders. No one is entitled to surreptitiously fight their battles in the media by revealing sensitive government information. No government can be effective when its leaders cannot discuss sensitive matters in confidence or to talk freely in confidence with foreign leaders.

We are here today to talk about the dramatic growth in the number of unauthorized disclosures of classified national security information in the past several months. This includes leaks to both the media and in some cases even unauthorized disclosures to our foreign adversaries. Referrals for investigations of classified leaks to the Department of Justice from our intelligence agencies have exploded. In the first six months of this Administration, DOJ has already received nearly as many criminal referrals involving unauthorized disclosures of classified information as we received in the last three years combined.

[snip]

We are taking a stand. This culture of leaking must stop.

Furthering this goal, today, we are here to announce some of the steps being taken and underway by the National Insider Threat Task Force to ensure that this government’s first priority—to protect this country and her citizens—is not undermined by the very people who have been entrusted to protect it.

While the Department of Justice does not discuss ongoing investigations or confirm specific matters, it is important for the American people - and for those who might be thinking about leaking sensitive or classified information [emphasis mine - FB] — to know that criminals who would illegally use their access to our most sensitive information to endanger our national security are, in fact, being investigated and prosecuted. Since January, the Department has more than tripled the number of active leak investigations compared to the number pending at the end of the last Administration.

^ Note the date of this release.

I read online laments, every day, that AG Sessions isn't doing anything.

The evidence to support this line of thought? "Well, I don't see him doing anything!"

Hmmmmm, maybe that's the idea.

I suspect Sessions, and Huber, have been VERY busy...

The F-35 is assembled in lockheed martins forth worth plant. As mentioned, many contractors around the country produce parts(other countries as well) and they all come together in fort worth. The f-35 pictured is most definitely a wooden mock up. They would not tote around a full up version for show and tell unless for a dog and pony at a facility or base where they are stationed or at an air show where it could be flown in. I've been working on them for a while, pretty neat airplane.

I dunno...it's the *White House*.

They may have a real one there.

As to the leak-fighting, these releases fail to mention the threat to the OTHER nations whose conversations are being disclosed. It's bad enough to put our security at risk for a political / petty agenda, but risking pissing off some OTHER country? That's just flat stupid.

I know.

Think of who's doing it.

But...it's still stupid, and depending who the "other" nation is, it's a good way to get dead.

Trump secures concessions from EU to avoid trade war: Wall Street Journal
Reuters - Jul 25, 2018 - 4 p.m.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump has secured concessions from the European Union to avoid a trade war, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing an EU official who was in the room during talks between Trump and the EU’s Jean-Claude Juncker.

Juncker, the president of the European Commission, and top EU trade official Cecilia Malmstrom agreed to work with the United States to lower industrial tariffs on both sides and increase U.S. exports of liquefied natural gas and soybeans to Europe, the official said, according to the report.

They also agreed to align regulatory standards to allow for medical devices to have better market access in Europe, the report said.

Unscheduled: President Trump and EU President Juncker Joint Press Statement – 4:00pm EST
CTH - July 25, 2018

The White House has announced an unanticipated joint press statement/availability between President Trump and EU President Jean Claude Juncker to be held at approximately 4:00pm EST in the Rose Garden.

Apparently the EU has agreed to President Trump’s terms on lowering industrial tariffs to enhance U.S. trade opportunities; lower non-tariff barriers to increase agricultural trade, and committed to increased import of LNG (liquid natural gas) to offset Russian energy dependence. This is a developing story.

That Dow chart looks like my 401k chart from election day! NOICE!!

Highest close for the Dow in five months, if I've got my facts straight.

Friday we find out Q2's GDP (again, if I've got my facts straight). What might a 4+ do to the markets? : )

Not my words:

quote:

A major problem is that the news outlets and nearly all of the business outlets have been successful in equating the economy directly to performance of the Stock Market. Most Americans are not savvy enough to realize the difference between the Main Street and Wall Street economies, and that the Wall Street economy actually favors the Democrat Party and GOPe, while Main Street American workers are actually a negative number on the Wall Street balance sheet.

Also not my words:

quote:

Absolutely right. I don’t care much about the Wall Street economy. However, there are a number of people with 401K’s tied to the Dow and the markets and those people should feel pretty good right now. And hopefully they’ll feel good heading into the midterms.

How ya feelin', Ratbuell? : D

Yeah, I hear you.

But, consider what happened in the 2010 mid-terms. Only two years into 0's first term and already - in SPITE of the Deep Media - Americans had figured out that he and the party he front-manned for was complete and utter bullshit. 2010 was a major shellacking for the Dems, and their fortunes have dwindled come every election time since (2012 doesn't count - Sen. NoName, chosen to represent conservative patriotism? Puke.)

Nothing has changed since 2010 to breathe life back into the D plantation. They, as a political party, are deep into death rattle stage; the end draws nigh.

President Trump has IGNITED this country, and hasn't even finished his second year in office! Consider what he could do without all the professional hyenas - D's, plenty of R's (sadly), and the FRIKKIN' DEEP MEDIA CABAL - constantly nipping at his heels.

And yet, in spite of the most withering, unwarranted assault on any president in modern times, he's got our country on the boil. Heck, we've got more job openings now than people to fill those jobs!

There is NO reason for the majority of American voters, come November, to check anything other than the "More, please!" box on their respective ballots. Yep, there are plenty of useful idiots out there - CNN and MSNBC have built their entire business models around such folk - but Americans, as a whole, are a savvy bunch, and it's readily apparent that we've been lied to, and fiscally raped, by our political "leaders" for decades.

President Trump - like his style or not (he fights like a Democrat; yes!) - has been a man of his word and has checked off his campaign promises list at a staggering rate.

And we, the people, are the benefactors.

November is gonna be a blowout, not even close.

In fact, November *might* actually spell the end of the Democrat party.

MAGA

I agree the Democrat party is on its deathbed. I fully expect to have Republicans...and Socialists.

However.

I worry about the 2 coasts and Chicago, and the population density issue. I live and work in Maryland, an hour from DC and an hour from Baltimore. Working with the public in this area, I see a vast majority who are, still, useful idiots. They are falling prey to the MSM because they simply don't know any better. They fall in line with the party because welfare, and unemployment, and other forms of Assistance, are prevalent here. And, by and large...they're OK with it.

I just hope they're smart enough to see through the smokescreen-promises of "free everything" and "guaranteed income", to understand that someone, somewhere, has to pay for all that free stuff. And hopefully - just hopefully - they'll care about their fellow Americans as opposed to simply wanting to live and mooch off them.

I have been thinking lately that perhaps P45 should stop poking the MSM with a stick. Don't go so far as to LIKE them...but stop antagonizing them. Keep them pissed off, and they will NEVER report good stuff (like today's EU deal, which they by and large ignored in the name of scandal after scandal).

But...if he simply went into "ignore" mode, focused on his job, and did his thing (continuing to WIN)...maybe they - and their short-attention-spans - would stop trying to crucify him all the time...and maybe even start to see and admit to some of the winning that's going on.

Maybe.

George Bush, a "nice guy" didn't complain every time they lied about him, and those lies, uncorrected, will be part of the record for a long time until he's almost forgotten and someone writes a book about how lied about he was.

Long after any lessons we might learn from his actual failures have any meaning.

My Opinion, is that the Future will condemn Bush the Younger for Not taking out the Mullahs in Iran, when he knew they were acting to kill Americans & Iraqis with bombs and support for terrorists. Make a deal with Putin to spare Syria, and cut Islamist terrorist flow into Russia from a new Free Iran.

Past is past.

If Trump doesn't force the truth out of the Media, it will be buried. No sense at all in trying to make them like him, it's just not going to happen, and wishing it would is pointless.

The Leftists are The Mean Girls. They won't like you no matter how much you try. Far better to undercut their popularity and live proudly. Better for the digestion.

And it's working. The Majority of Americans now think that the Big Media lies to them on a regular basis, in politics. That's devastating, long run, to revenues. At this rate CNN is going to want Government Money to stay in business.
