Well, as a Prime-aholic I am excited. Post up your purchases and finds. I am going to get an Echo Dot as I need a device around the house to stream music other than my cell phone...plus I to be able to order Greek food at a moments notice... And I had something else in mind...but I already forgot what it was! |

Maybe a package of pens and a note pad? |

I'd go for a pen and pad before any of those security-risk listening devices. My iphone plays music just fine in my pocket, from my itunes library...and the music channels on comcast fill in nicely when I feel like some blues or r&b (which I don't have a lot of in my library). |

I am going to change my plan of attack on streaming music and use my Roku rather than getting the Echo Dot. The iHeartradio app on the Roku works well from my limited experience with it. I might be looking for a Bluetooth extender now on Prime day so I can reach out the backyard with the Bluetooth signal...Thanks, Ratbuell. You got me thinking with your post. |

The thought of putting an unsecured microphone listening to everything anyone in my house says is beyond comprehension to me. I really just can't fathom it. |

Yes. Also you pay for it LOL. My father in law has one of those Alexa things but he's 95% blind so it really helps him out. "alexa, play the news" "alexa, weather" When he's not home with us, we pull the plug on it. |

Alexa is barred from my home or generally anywhere I am present. So too was the Xbox Kinect. The kids used it some times, but I unplugged it and buried the unit every time it wasn't in use. The fad passed, and the Xbox is in a box now. |

I have the google home mini... if google want to hear me sing to my 2 year old 'wheels on the bus' and then recite the alphabet... over and over - go nuts google! Also its quite cute when the little man starts yelling at it 'HEY GIGGLE!' |

Um; what exactly is Amazon Prime Day? |

Amazon sells those "buelltooth" dongles too. They seem to be three different prices. I can't tell what I'm looking at. |

Crusticle- If you're an Amazon Prime member, they do deep discounts on lots of stuff for these couple of days. If you have need to shop for stuff... I'm a Prime member because I used to get my blood glucose strips for cheep, but now I use a Wallyworld meter and strips. If you like to download good music or video/movies, it's useful. They charge you once a year, IIRC about a bennie, and you get the Prime benefits. I'm on the fence as to whether it's worth it for us anymore- but if I want to see a weird old movie I've not seen in a while, they usually have it, for $3, 4 bucks. It's like a convenience store for digital content, and you can order stuff, sent to you door. |

I don't buy enough from Amazon to make it worth paying for Prime. I was just curious about what Prime Day was. |

I have a Bluetooth dongle and it works reasonably well. Have to keep it fully charged or it turns off prematurely (at the worst times it seems like). Combined with a good set of hi-fi Bluetooth headphones it's good for late night movie watching or video game playing. I ended up buy a Bluetooth extender for $35--its supposed to have a line of site range of 230 feet. With any luck I will be able to put iHeartradio on in my living room and broadcast the Bluetooth signal with the extender so I can roam my property and not lose my tunes.... |

PS--I think Prime is around $120 annually now...worth it for me. I love shopping online. |

I bought some toothbrushes. Sounds boring but toothbrushes are stupid expensive for what they are. Also some parts for my car. |

Life trick for tooth brushes? Free samples at the dentist. I get a new one, some floss, and tooth paste every time I go in for a cleaning. Find a dentist office that hands them out. Ask before you schedule. |

Interesting. Checked my email and Ebay sent a $25 coupon off $119+ item...good until 11pm PST tonight. Not bad. PRIMO119 is the code. (Message edited by fresnobuell on July 17, 2018) |

Oh, I know. My dentist gives all those plus really nice pens. But I get a checkup every six months and I can't make a toothbrush last six months. |

The problem with Prime day is everyone just goes shopping instead of remembering what the holiday represents. https://makeagif.com/i/oXFYHZ |

Hmmm. Received the bluetooth extender. Disappointed. Apparently when they say it has 230 line of site range, it's literally line of site. I lost signal quickly as I stepped outdoors...maybe slightly better than my cell phone bluetooth, but far from the solution I was looking for... |
