He succumbed from the result of a crash a few days ago during practice for the Skerries 100 in Ireland. He was 32 years old.
In watching some videos it's apparent that there's a lot of public opposition and animosity toward "real" road racing and its organizers. For many racers it's the only type of racing worth doing. The risks are obvious and apparent.

Oh, wow. Sad to hear of this, RIP (Race In Peace).
IIRC there's a great documentary about the Dunlop family and their racing on Netflix, maybe Amazon?

I was sure that Pedrosa's retirement news was announced last motoGP round. the wife and I both were sure it was a topic of discussion 2 weeks ago.
