Who would have thought Nicky would have been taken out on his pedal bicycle after thousands of miles of racing at highest levels......life is crazy. We miss you Nicky. |

Jaimec, thanks for posting. Very cool that Owensboro KY made this happen. Still hate that we lost the Kentucky Kid, RIP. Any chance there are multiple pics/angles? Is that one of his actual racebikes? Most importantly, PLEASE tell me the first Lucille Ball sculptor WASN'T involved... How about a picture of him when he struck that pose, next to the sculpture? Thanks to whomever can dredge any of these RQ's up... |

That looks like the bike he won the MotoGP race at Leguna Seca with. |

That is a recreation of his victory lap at Laguna Seca, if I recall correctly. I've seen various articles online, all have photos from different angles. I need to get to Owensboro one day. |

+1, I thought that was his Laguna Seca win. One of these days I'd love to see a race from somewhere on the Corkscrew. |

I was lucky enough to see his first ever MotoGP win in person back in 2005. A friend of mine worked for Phillip Morris and REALLY hooked me up for that one. |

More on the statue. And I was mistaken: The pose is NOT from Laguna Seca, it is from Valencia, 2006, after he clinched the World Championship. http://www.motorcycle.com/features/crafting-kentuc kys-finest.html |

If you want to see a race from the Corkscrew, contact Al Lighton formerly of asb ... the SCAB guys have a campsite right in front of it. |
