If you have this channel and enjoy the Isle of Man, heck if you enjoy motorcycles at all, you need to watch the "Classic Isle of Man Tourist Trophy" documentary. The one I caught chronicles the 1991 Isle of Man. The introduction is by far the best and most complete breakdown of the 37 mile course I have ever seen (and might be the best part of the entire show). It was absolutely riveting. The Superbikes were hitting 190 MPH in the speed trap which is mind blowing considering we are talking almost 30 years ago! Winning lap speeds were nearly 125 MPH on the average. These days they are in the low 130s. Great interviews, great onboard shots, great emphasis on the Isle of Man itself and what it's like to be there during the TT. Seriously, it's a must watch. I was getting goosebumps during most of the program. And that rotary powered Norton might be the best sounding motorcycle I have ever heard--but this is coming from someone who has always loved rotary engines. The #5 rider (can't remember his name at the moment) was just amazing on it. One of the parts I had to rewind and keep watching over an over was the #5 bike wheeling over a bump and setting the front end down a split second before tipping it in for a 120 MPHish (guessing, maybe faster) sweeper with a brick wall a couple feet on outside of the turn. Talk about stones the size of Gibraltar! I couldn't believe it when I saw it (over and over and over). Anyhow, I have motosport.tv on Sling TV. Episodes on today at 3pm and 9pm PST. Check your listings! (Message edited by fresnobuell on June 06, 2018) |

Been watching the Northwest 200 (over now) and the TT (few days left) and it's been incredible.lap records being broken all over the place, TT riders are a different breed. If you get the chance, do watch. |

... got a friend/former co-worker who's married or shacked up with a guy who LIVES on the Isle Of Man. In a mansion. If I could build enough scratch to get there, I've a place to stay!! Gotta have dreams, right?? |
