North Korea will open air space, invite media to cover dismantlement of nuclear test site
By Josh Delk - May 12, 2018

North Korea is expected to soften air space restrictions and provide more access to foreign media than it has in decades in order to demonstrate it is dismantling nuclear testing ahead of diplomatic talks.

The country on Saturday confirmed it will invite reporters from the U.S., South Korea and other countries to "ensure transparency of discontinuance of the nuclear test," according to state media and reported by Reuters.

To bring in the foreign reporters, North Korea will be “opening territorial air space” between May 23 and 25 to fly them in through China. Upon landing in the city of Wonsan, the guests will board a train to the facility said to be housed in an "uninhabited deep mountain area" near Mount Mantap.

North Korea's announcement comes the day after President Trump gave the official date and location for his historic summit with the country's ruler Kim Jong Un as June 12 and set to take place in Singapore.

I think Trump is used to dealing with dishonest/treacherous people and is well aware of the promises made and broken by NK in the past. He is not burdened by the need to be nice in negotiations and Lil Kim seems to be reacting well. But, it sure will be interesting how this plays out. Trump is no Obama/Kerry/Cankles, for sure!

Regarding Trump's supposedly ruthless business dealings, that big city development world seems to populated with ruthless people. The bankruptcies of Trump entities were with sophisticated business people who entered into the deals, not wide-eyed innocent amateur investors.

quote:

Trump’s chaotic style is starting to make sense
By Michael Walsh - May 12, 2018

From its start, the Trump administration has been plagued by charges of “chaos.” From the revolving door of senior staffers — including two secretaries of state, three national security advisers and two chiefs of staff — to the president’s brash and sometimes boorish personal style, to his politically incorrect taunt-tweeting, Donald Trump has refused to conform to his political opponents’ conventional notions of what constitutes an effective White House operation.

And yet, the economy is humming, hosts of regulations have been rolled back, the unemployment rate is down, job openings are soaring, taxes have been cut and black joblessness is at an all-time low. Prototypes for the wall along the Mexican border are being tested, raids by ICE are rounding up dangerous illegal aliens and the “travel ban” against several Muslim nations was argued last month before the Supreme Court, where the president’s authority over immigration will be upheld.

In foreign affairs, the two Koreas are talking to each other, with a summit between Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un slated for June in Singapore, the ISIS “caliphate” has been effectively destroyed and just last week Trump yanked the carpets out from under the Iranian mullahs and canceled the nuclear deal negotiated — but never submitted to the Senate for ratification — by the 0bama administration.

In short, this has been the most effective administration since FDR’s first term. And it’s being accomplished in the teeth of the so-called “resistance,” which includes the overt hostility of nearly all the mainstream media, the embedded civil service, the Democrats, the never-Trump Republicans, rogue elements of the intelligence and investigative agencies and Robert Mueller’s investigation into charges of “collusion” with the Russians.

Some “chaos.”

The 'Election Collusion' Was between Our Intelligence Community and Britain
By Clarice Feldman - May 13, 2018

As I will explain, the widespread notion that Russia and Trump colluded to beat Hillary has long been demonstrable bunk. What seems more clear each day is that there was collusion between certain members of the U.S. and British intelligence communities to spy on the Trump campaign.

"Transactional" .

I love when they come up with big words with lots of syllables to cover up a small, precise word that has plain meaning.

But..... Sometimes you need more than "crook", to describe the actions of a powerful, vindictive, person like the last couple of AGs of New York.

Extortionist. That's better.

Fits the previous AG perfectly too.

Who is now Governor.

And.... This is confirmed, sends the State Police ahead of him on his drives through his Empire, to trespass, and steal yard signs advocating things upsetting to the Governor. Before they can infuriate him. Like Constitutional rights.

hey, mistakes happen.

when you are a dishonest cop it can be hard to keep all the lies straight. This kind of thing happens when a cop goes back over poorly written notes and tries to prosecute a witness, because he read/documented it wrong. It's usually a great day for the defense when that happens.

More importantly, the Special Prosecutor has uncovered an actual case of Russian government involvement in trying to disrupt our country with stolen names, actual protests organized to raise hate, and Social Media exploitation.

Unfortunately he won't actually try and prosecute anyone for this, since it isn't the great propaganda coup he is searching for.

Someone at Justice should follow up on this.

OTOH.

This is bad behavior from the Trump staff & Trump himself.

Barry said stupid and inflammatory things about several criminal cases, from self defense deaths to Hillary Clinton's multiple felonies, and got called on it by the not-very-leftist-media, like Glenn Beck & National Review.

The reason these blabbermouth virtue signaling words were stupid, is it ruins the prosecution & defense of a criminal case, when the President comes out and says something is no big deal, or a massive threat to our way of life. In either case, it becomes impossible to find a jury that is not influenced by the President, unless they are completely ignorant of everything, don't do social media, or watch tv.

Hey, that MIGHT be the jury you want for a given trial, but it's not optimum most of the time.

Trump saying anything about Hillary's crimes just makes it harder to do the nearly impossible anyway, convict a Clinton who is obviously criminal, but Above You Peons, and Not Subject To The Rule Of Law.

Bad Trump. Bad Trump staffer. Bad moves you jerks.

Not-very-leftist does not mean pro Trump.

I can object to communist murder states and not be a fan of any particular politician.

That stand may mean I'm automatically Against some politicians, like Kerry, or Bernie. But doesn't give a Ted Cruz or Jeb Bush a thumbs up.

No mainstream politicians exactly fit my varied positions. I don't expect them to.

If my primary goals are, for example, to preserve the first 2 Constitution Amendments, then two-three years ago why would I favor Donald? ( other than Not Hillary, which is why in large part, he won )

It wasn't certain Donald wouldn't use the government as a weapon against reporters like Barry did. Not then. He hasn't. Called them names, sure, but didn't threaten them, with hacked computers and possibly breaking into their property. Called for them to be fired, sure, but openly, not behind the scenes like Barry.

Had anyone he has said should be fired, been fired? ( other than the N.Y. AG )

Right up until very recently, Donald has given mixed signals on the 2nd Amendment, mostly, maybe, due to ignorance both technological and policy.

So not being a Trump Fan is no sign of ideological purity, one way or another.

And comments on an ongoing investigation are almost always foolish.

Not-very-leftist does not mean pro Trump.

Virulently anti-Trump, they were.

Andrew McCarthy seems to have come around.

It wasn't certain Donald wouldn't use the government as a weapon against reporters like Barry did.

Candidate Trump said, repeatedly, that he intended to help make America great again.

President Trump has been a man of his word.

I'm surprised the National Review hasn't run a cover that says, "We up."

Right up until very recently, Donald has given mixed signals on the 2nd Amendment

News to me. Citation/s?

Considering these "mixed signals," it's baffling that the NRA invited him back to address their annual convention.

Trump's winning streak rivals one of the greatest streaks in sports
By Steve Cortes - May 15, 2018

John Wooden, perhaps the best basketball coach of all-time, once led his UCLA Bruins to 88 straight wins over three seasons in the early 1970s, still an NCAA men’s record. That streak, plus 10 national championships, earned him the nickname: the “Wizard of Westwood.”

If President Donald Trump has more win streaks like his present one, he might well become known as the “Wizard of Washington.” From the economy to important victories across the vast Asian continent, America is winning under Trump’s leadership.

The good news this month began with an incredible jobs report. The unemployment rate fell to 3.9 percent, falling under 4 percent for the first time since 2000. Even better, unlike during the 0bama presidency, the low jobless rate was not due to people giving up and leaving the workforce. Instead, since Trump’s election, almost 1 million new workers have re-entered the labor market. That movement toward self-sufficiency reaps myriad benefits for our society including more stable families, lower crime, and less government dependency. In fact, an amazing 2 million Americans stopped receiving food stamps during fiscal 2017.

In addition, the quality of the jobs improved as wages accelerated in the first quarter of 2018 at the fastest pace in a decade. This trend particularly benefits minorities. For example, in U.S. history, Hispanic unemployment has registered below 5 percent for only seven months, ever. Amazingly, six of those seven months have occurred in the past year under the pro-growth policies of this president. If President Trump is as racist as media pundits claim he is, he’s remarkably bad at it.

A strong America at home supports a strong America abroad as well. On the international scene, this commander in chief, in contrast to his two predecessors, is restrained in his use of American might, but also clear-eyed in his admonitions to our adversaries.

Last week, he took strong action against the awful Iran nuclear deal. Trump recognizes that allowing Iran to simultaneously pursue both advanced nuclear power technology and potent ballistic missiles sets the stage for a very dangerous Tehran regime in years to come. Moreover, Trump showed our allies in the Middle East (Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia) that he will not let the corporatist globalists of Western Europe dictate American policy toward the corrupt mullahs of Iran. The incredible capture of five top Islamic State leaders last week showed the potency of Americans working in concert with our friends in the region.

Speaking of our friends, at long last America made good on our promise to our ally Israel and moved our embassy to Jerusalem. In doing so, Trump showed that campaign promises actually matter, and that we believe that Jerusalem is both the capital of the modern state of Israel as well as the eternal capital of all Jewish people.
