...this stuff ROCKS. Bambi totaled my S2 on the 3rd. I, fully armored, went 310 feet before I stopped. Feet first. Klim jacket pulled up, and I got rashed pretty bad on my back. Burned through my pants' ass and I had some good rash on my right cheek and hip. Backs been healing fine, but the hip and ass were angry because of clothes, constant bend/twist/stretch, and daily re-dress irritation. Today, I got these:
Ab So Lute HEAVEN. They stay on for up to a week. Top layer you have to add something to hold them in place, I went with IV style adhesive pads that are good for up to a week as well. Been on for an hour and already it's like no injury at all. SOOO NIICEE. PRICEY, but worth their weight in gold. If you ever get rashed...do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not try other remedies, just get these. You may thank me later. These are good for burns 1 and 2 as well as cysts and graft sites. Basically anything short of a burn 3 (total burn/bare damaged flesh). I should have got these 10 days ago. |

That's great info and I'm so happy you found some relief. I hope I never need them! |

Yeah it looks like this box will do me. Thanks. This was a case of "I can't sit, stand, shower or lay down without pain and bleeding". Local and on the wounds TODAY was worth the premium this time. Hopefully I won't need the stuff again but if i do, I know what to get immediately. |

After reading your endorsement, I'm ordering some just to keep at the house. What's it say on the package as far as expiration dates, does it keep for a good long time? |

Natural stuff, this box expires in October. A good friend is a trauma nurse and tells me it's viable for up to a year past the date. |

Last time I slid across the asphalt on my ass I rode it out on my wallet! It almost wore down to the cash! It wasn't 300 feet though!! Thanks for sharing, I hope I never need it...again! |

I have a question though: What is a Leptum, and how do they go about getting its sperm? Eww. |

Not sure how far I actually slid. I came to a stop 310 feet from where I cut bambi in half. How much was air, and how much was slide...I dunno. I do know it burned clear through my Adventure pants. And their pads. And my Levis. And my boxers. And half my right cheek. My Klim jacket wasn't much help since I was sliding feet-first and it simply rode up - you betcha I'm going to zip my jacket to my pants from now on! Still loving these honey patches. I actually SLEPT last night, for the first time since the accident! Had to go get checked by ortho today - turns out I do have a broken foot (whoops, hehe). But jeans, on the wounds...SUCKED. I was dressed for work but I called out after the appointment, been sitting and snoozing around the house all day. Gotta give these spots time to heal. They looked worse after work yesterday when I took off the last of the surgical pads (before a shower and the honey installation), than they did the day of the accident. Just a horrible spot for healing, extremely inconvenient. |

Must have been a very rough surface to go through all those layers. I burned through my one piece rain suit, and just barely (about a quarter size hole in the leg) burned through a snowmobile suit I had on underneath. I slid on my side and my back, but only the side of the leg of my suit melted. I remember sliding long enough to wonder when I was going to stop, and ponder whether I had time to eat a sandwich while I waited. Actually got a little bored. It was surreal. "Huh. It doesn't hurt. I guess I'll just wait." in reality, I'm sure it was over in a matter of seconds. |

A good friend is a trauma nurse and tells me it's viable for up to a year past the date. I've found that most things are good for at least an extra year, when you keep them in a cool, dark place. |

Must have been a very rough surface to go through all those layers It was one of those sections of road they paved correctly a number of years ago, so it's worn to mostly aggregate/gravel. So yes, quite a rough surface. I was sliding long enough that I was actively trying to pivot my body, or roll over, or anything, to get that jacket to pull back down. Trying to plant one foot to start a rotation; trying to roll over onto my stomach; trying just about anything I could think of to stop sliding feet-first. I didn't know and it didn't occur to me that I might hit a guard rail - turns out I wouldn't have, once I stopped I stood up, on the yellow line down the center of the road - but at the time all I wanted to do was get that damned jacket back down for some protection. The top adhesive layer we put on the honey patches - tegaderm, an adhesive windowframe with a clear center section, it's what they use to hold IV needles in - peeled the other night so yesterday we cleaned off the honey patches, I showered, and we applied a new set. 48 hours with the honey on and the wounds are noticably smaller, and more pink than angry red. These DEFINITELY work, and when they are removed it is completely non-invasive. Apparently these pads are basically all honey, with something that dissolves holding them together. I was dreading the removal, but...they came off very easily. |

Wow. When I was 11, of course I was playing with fireworks just before New Years... wearing a "Davy Crockett" jacket with loose sleeves, and shooting a 10 shot Roman candle. 9 shots good, #10 shoots backward, straight up my sleeve into my armpit. Ow. 2nd and 3rd degree burn on the bottom of my arm, still got the scar. Burned a hole in my favorite Star Wars shirt! But I still remember all the treatments. Silvadene was my friend, LOTS of gauze and tape. Recovery took quite a while, they didn't have the advanced stuff like what you've got, Joe. Funny thing was, I was in a 5th grade bowling league. Once the games got going, inevitably my bandage would come loose, grossing out all standing behind me. I think it gave my team an advantage... we came in 2nd against a 6th grade team! Keep us posted on your progress, friend! (Message edited by 86129squids on May 18, 2018) |
