Weirdly, the three active ingredients are sodium chloride, sucrose, and yeast, at varying percentages each per volume. Claims to kill the little bloodsucking beattches for 90 days over a whole acre. $20 per box, 2 units per box. Hoping to research this stuff a bit, but not a bad bet for the price. Lady at the Co-Op said she'd heard they work...
So, I get the sugar and yeast. That'll make alcohol and, more importantly, CO2, which is likely the attractant. But I don't understand what kills them, unless it's just a simple trap.
I dunno. For the cost and trouble of tiki torches, might as well try this stuff. Last year the state of TN sent out a epidemiologist guy, he asked if he could set up some skeeter traps to study for the season, fine with me. He said he'd bring me back a copy of the results... still waiting.
I just tried to order some from their site. I can't. Due to strong demand, they only sell to government on their web site. The rest of us have to find a retailer. Amazon is out of stock.
They're either marketing geniuses or they don't really want to sell any.
Closest retailer is about 30 miles from me, in a part of town I rarely frequent. Pass.
Well, next time I pass by my Co-Op and have a spare $20, I'll try the stuff. Gotta get back to putting in my garden now, before the dang T-storms show up!
