I think it time to start a thread about things that really frost my ass. Or yours.

Things like ads from Law firms that tell me I may be eligible for significant compensation if I died from Mesothelioma or if I got a skin burn from using Just For Men beard dye.

Links to an interesting political opinion that are infested with pop up ads that slide up from the bottom or sides of the screen and block the print of the article I'm trying to read. Sometimes, there are pop ups that cover another ad. And God help you if you don't click on the little X perfectly; 'cause you will be magically transported to some other site.

Another one is if I'm looking at a weather forecast and something in one of the ads (that doesn't pop or slide up) catches my eye, so I click on it for more information. That's a guarantee that I'll be seeing ads from that company for the next month. And not just on the Weather site, but on every site that has ads. When I look at TV listings, or even on some forums, I'll see the object that first caught my eye with a 40% off notation.

This morning, I got an e-mail from Google telling me how they made their Privacy Policy easier to understand. The part I really like is, "Nothing is changing about your current settings or how your information is processed. Rather, we’ve improved the way we describe our practices and how we explain the options you have to update, manage, export, and delete your data." In other words, "We're still going to screw you, but now we'll whisper soothingly in your ear a little."

Other things that I find really annoying are the e-mails I get from the Republican party asking how I approve of President Trumps handling of something. Then they want me to donate money. He's the freakin' President. He won the election! He doesn't need my money.

We just had a Primary Election in Ohio. For the past couple of months, I've been subjected to seeing uncounted smear ads for politicians. None of them were saying, "Vote for me" they were saying that the opposition is a career politician who sided with Obamalamadingdong, or similar crap. And they weren't from the politician directly, they were from Concerned Citizens Against False Political Ads or some other equally mendacious bullshit name like the Swift Boat Veterans for Badmouthing Assholes.

I woke up in a sour mood this morning and seeing that e-mail from google set me off, but there are a lot of things that I find annoying. I'm willing to bet that there are a lot of things that bug other people, too.

Like the jackass who goes blazing past me on the Interstate, then slows down in the passing lane so that I pass him back in a couple of minutes. When I look over, he or she's either holding her phone up in front of her face while her thumb is doing a Tarantella on the screen, or she has the phone stuck to the side of her head while her mouth is moving at about 90 cycles per second. Once the call or text exchange is over, their speed increases by about 30 MPH and they go blazing past again.

Anyway, that's just a start. I bet there are a lot of things that really bug you. What raises your hackles?

Liberty Mutual commercials. "Liberty Mutual stood with me when my son got a flat tire in the middle of the night."
First off, what the hell does "stood with me" mean? And second, what kind of puss did you raise that he can't even change a flat tire?
I'm sure all of us has at least one story to tell of how, in the time before cell phones, we were stranded in some remote location and had to rely on our own ingenuity to extricate ourselves and return to civilization.
Apparently we are raising a generation of helpless cry babies who can't solve problems for themselves.
Yeah, I get that it's just a commercial but I fear that it reflects modern society pretty well.

Subaru "LOVE" commercials ... implying that I do not "LOVE" my family or my dog because I do not drive one?!?! Are they effing joking?!?!?
Then there are all those medical commercials..., IMHO, ALL commercials over 30 secs should be banned IMHO!!! Trump should write an executive order!

Emails used to bother me... (the president asking for donations seems weird)

PS: those idiots with cell phone may be trying to video or take picture of you riding on your awesome motorcycle.... (haha just a thought)

Come to think of it, every time I'm in the shower listening to my YouTube music playlist I end up getting a four minute commercial. That's why I own most of my music.

CELL PHONE DRIVERS.

70% of the drivers I pass on my 50 mile commute, roundtrip, are futzing on the phone. WHY IN HELL HAVEN'T WE, AS A SOCIETY, MANDATED TOTALLY AGAINST DISTRACTED DRIVING?!?!?!?

It has been proven that distracted drivers are more lethal than drunk drivers. However, the beer and booze industry doesn't have a vested money interest in maintaining more drunk drivers. The telecom industry DOES have a vested interest in more texters, more yakkers, ALL THE TIME. For F**&Cks sake!!!

And, those drug ads just creep me out. We should all be so happy in paradise, taking that drug for a condition, whilst dodging all the various and sundry ways same drug will kill you. Let's make a list of all the ways lawyers have F'ed up the world while we're at it.

F-tard speeders in my neighborhood. Looking forward to pinching a head off and shitting down their neck one day.

I think the #1 reason for auto accidents is cell phone use or distracted driving.

Many years ago I was riding my K100RS. I was on an 8 lane highway riding in the center left lane. As I was passing an Audi driver he started drifting into my lane. Now there was nobody behind us or in front of us and no reason for him to change lanes. I looked over as he came closer and I saw he had a cell phone next to his right ear and he's yakking away. Since the BMW had a throttle holding screw, and was set to hold my throttle position, I reached over and knocked on his window. At this point I pressed on the left grip and shot to the far left lane while his phone went flying into the back seat and he began swerving all over the road. I hope he crapped his pants too! I accelerated away briskly to avoid him. I hope I made a lasting impression on him...but probably not!

At the extreme very top of my personal list of things that just bother to no end:

At the supermarket there is a special register for people with a few items. A sign is posted "10 items or less, express lane"
In slightly smaller letters it also says "no coupons, no checks, cash or card only".

The other day, I went to the store, grabbed what I needed, and got in the express line.

The line does not move. A 20 something is at the register, with a full buggy. Can she not read? Has our education system failed that badly? Not only is the buggy full, but the divides it up into 7 or 8 different transactions with a stack of coupons thrown in for good measure. She is going wide open with someone on her phone and can't be bothered by the cashier trying to get her attention. Then issues come up about one of the coupons and a manager has to be called in.

After 17 minutes, and the line behind me nearing 20 people, I had all I could stand.

The ensuing conversation left no doubt about my opinion, and no doubt that in her opinion she was entitled to do what she wants.

The sad thing, is the store employees cant say anything to people like that, and people that hold up the line my arguing the item was 4 cents cheaper according to the placard on the shelf. I am not allowed to use the descriptions I want to on this forum. At a store once, when that very thing happened in front of me, I slapped a nickel on the counter and told the guy to pay and go home with a penny profit.

I am the guy that does not let moss grow on his feet. I hate when people physically block pathways. Just milling around being a roadblock for no good reason. I need to get by because I have something to accomplish. Makes me wish I could get away with yelling "Make a Hole" and bowling them out of the way.

The base cause of most of the above is the obvious change to "it's all about me" attitude. And "F everybody else". The cause is debatable, but the change in society's attitude towards each other is quite apparent.

As a motorcyclist, distracted driving is at the top of my list. It seems the stupider, younger and more inept a person is the more likely to find them on their phone while driving. Soccer moms in their gigantic Suburbans are almost a given they will be on the phone.

Raised trucks are a close second. I guess in the big truck crowd, the more obnoxious the truck, the cooler they are. And forget about these a-holes using a turn signal...something else that can be attributed to "I don't give a shit about you" attitude or maybe they are just too stupid. i dunno.

People changing flat tires on the highway, less than a 1/8 of a mile from a off ramp! Have they never watched a LA police chase? You can drive 80 plus mph on just the rims, for miles!

Not sure what causes me to really be bothered by Chevrolet television commercials. Real People. Not actors. Chevy Cruze, best car on earth, has received every award possible. Go Chevy. Yeah, go Chevy, go hire a new marketing company.

Hey now, the turn signal thing is on the opposite end of the spectrum as big trucks. It's usually the little ricers, beamers, suby's, whatever other cute little nicknames the kids use nowadays. Those are more synonymous with blatant disregard for turn signals.
Edit: Within the past decade there has been a "ricer" subculture that's popped up within the lifted truck community. They're referred to as the "bro" or "brah" sub culture. The kids that wear bright pink sunglasses with the bills of their hats folded the wrong way. The more stickers you have on your back glass, and the bigger your exhaust tip, the tougher you are. Don't forget to lift the front of your truck more than the rear, and have a ridiculously oversized shackle hanging from your rear hitch.

I've always been annoyed with everything mainstream. Top 20's bands, mall clothing, whatever's trendy at the starbucks, every makeup-covered, plastic-faced, soulless hypocrite on the cover of the magazines when I'm standing in line at the grocery store. I hate the mainstream programming that people just mindlessly, unwittingly adopt and say, "this is what normal should be".
Think for yourself. You might like it better.

Perhaps where you live.

But the bottom line about signalling is it is becoming a lost "art" for the majority of drivers (regardless of vehicle type). I quote "art" because I find signalling an amazingly easy thing and a valuable communication tool.

When you do get around people who use their signals, it's so much easier to drive as you don't have to read minds. Amazing how that works.

One hand on the steering wheel. One hand with cell phone. No hand to turn on the blinker. F the people behind them. I know where I'M going.

Signalling....

Flashing your headlights to alert oncoming traffic of a speed trap that you just passed. Using your 4-ways to say "thank you" to the guy who just let you in infront of him. A tap of the brights to say "come on over in front of me, I see you and I'm making room for you". Oh yeah. And the normal "hey, I'm changing lanes". Common courtesies that everyone should know and follow. Most of the time.

But, in all fairness, turn signals are not permitted on the track, where the potential for disaster is higher. Situational Awareness is not so much a lost art as a skill that most never learn. As a motorcyclist, you probably have a keener sense of SA than the guy next to you who has only driven in a cage his whole life.
You not only know where every vehicle around you is located, you also know what they may possibly, and probably do, within the next 0-10 seconds.

It doesn't really bother me when people have no Situational Awareness. I've really come to expect it.

When salesmen cold call with a stupid offer and then say WHAT YOU DON'T WANT TO SAVE MONEY?

click.

That and Asian car companies that never show Asians in their ads, because they're not pretty enough. Sorry, nothing personal, just business.

Only the wealthy can use their turn signals since the cost of blinker fluid has gone thru the roof!

BTW in the Sovereign state of Wisconsin, flashing your brights to warn of a speed trap is in itself against the law.

Also, in another example of legislative stupidity, it's only illegal to text while driving, but not to check your email, facebook status, or entering an address in your phone's GPS.

Regarding fixing a flat, have any of you bought a new car in the last millennium? Most don't come with a spare anymore, if you are lucky you lift up the liner in the trunk and you will find a can of fix a flat and a business card with the with roadside service hotline.

Funny enough, I've gotten flats on motorcycles more than I've gotten them on cages, but at least I've lucked out and had an inflated spare for that.

I get tired of the bleeding heart two and a half minute send me $19 a month commercials. Neglected pets, Vets, hospitals, clinics, and the meth head who says that if his family had better medical insurance he could get treatment.

If the commercials would end, stop coming up on my TV, I'd actually consider giving. I freeken hate it when some one asks me for money to immediately and perpetually keep asking.

In my mid year Corvettes I take the spare tire and carrier system out and leave it out.

When they nail me with the spike strips I can run for miles and I'm not going to stop to change one tire when the odds have me running on at least two flats after crossing the spike strips. I'm confident my flat tires will carry me all of the way to the scene of the wreck, where my AAA can pick it up anyways!

If you send me $19 a month I can stay home, stay addicted, so I won't have to go out on the highway system. So your $19 can keep me from becoming a pimple on the ass of society. Won't you give now, and in fifteen minutes?

Wow. Serious anger at the bicycle guys. They must be really dumb some places.

The dumb ones die around here. Evolution in action. Insisting on the whole lane by running side by side? Sometimes that's the right thing, greatly depending on passing room.

I urge patience and plenty of room, for our slower brothers. Like us, they are invisible and are easier to kill with a car, and as fellow fragile under dogs, you should be on their side, unless they are blatant jerks.

I won't get into the legal quirk that bicycles and pedestrians have rights to use the roads, but motor vehicles that pay taxes are exercising a privilege.

Maybe I just don't have the same level of douchbaggery to deal with as you guys. On my motorcycle I have so much higher acceleration that waiting until safe then leaving them behind is effortless.

The running stop lights to preserve precious momentum, suicidal habit? Evolution in action, automatic punishment. Be sad, not angry.

Thought I would share this here instead of the"other" thread.

Same road I complained about (Bear Creek).

At the end of Bear Creek in the town of Boulder Creek, the cyclists never came to a stop and just blasted through the sign turning right (many near missed and a few of them got tagged by mirrors, one slid right into a truck). One guy got so pissed off about it he stood at the corner behind the sign yelling STOP! at them. A few took exception to this and stopped to pick a fight. The CHP rolled up on a brawl between 3 cyclists and the outraged pedestrian, who was kicking spandex booty and taking names. I never heard anyone getting ticketed for that incident, but most of the cyclists stop before turning right.
