Common theme in this thread = TRY before you buy.

Something that objectively "feels good" at the counter may not work so well for you when you pull the trigger.

Try as many pistols, actually shooting them, to figure out what you like best for fit, comfort & recoil management.

Shoot them "standard" (double handed with good fundamentals). Shoot them single handed (both strong side & weak side). Manipulate the controls repeatedly (how easy is it to hit the mag release for you, how easy is it to manipulate the slide, how does it "point" for you, how well do the sights work for you, etc.). How easy/hard is it to get back on target after firing (how quick can you put the front sight back on target after squeezing a round off)? How easy/hard is it to manage the recoil (does 50 rounds hurt your hands, does it jump up instead of push back, etc.)? How does the trigger feel to you? What's the reset like? Etc., etc.

These are things we can't necessarily answer for you via the internet, and are beneficial for you to understand before purchasing.

As for caliber, 9mm is fine for range duty, and works for other things as well. But if strictly a paper puncher at the range, and something to work on/hone fundamentals, it's hard to beat a good .22 lr pistol.

Good luck on whatever you choose, but focus on the pistol that works best for you, before focusing on the "extras." You'll be a happier/better pistolero for it. JMO & YMMV.

Glock 19. 15rounds. Great shooter. Reliable. Huge aftermarket. CCW possible. I consider a G19 mid-size, but with 15 rounds on tap. Nice.

Jericho's are cool. Polymer or steel framed?

They should make an alloy version.
