RD... did somebody buy a new car while somebody else was out camping and riding?
Here's some pics, finally got a few minutes to sit here and post them...
Before most people showed up, I had to feed myself so day Wednesday's excursion was to Tellico Grains Bakery for some wood fired pizza and breakfast biscuits... one of which was dinner that night.
And, of course... there's dessert.
And, in no particular order of occurrence, here are some more pictures...
The campground:
Some bikes in front of the lodge
The view around Jim's Smokin' Que
The Good, the Bad, The Ugly
Mike's absolutely pristine M2 and his traveling rig, which is really sweet... giving me ideas.
How about some clowns doing what clowns do...
Greg's fixing something as usual...
Crusty's Court, being held on the front porch.
...and again sitting around the fire.
And... the view from the top of Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia.
This trip was a truly great time, a relaxing departure from the stresses of my life... and I have you gentlemen to thank for it. It was not just the bikes, the roads, the good weather, the woods, the creek, the lodge or any one thing.
It was truly a winning combination of all these things that will carry me through to next April when we do it again.
I hope the new friends we made will join us again, and bring a few more with them.
I think they gave me $1,500 more than the Liberty was worth. On the plus side. I have control of the 2015 Renegade that she was wearing out. I ordered a Draw-tite hitch for it. Have to order a "Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector" next. I pulled the cabin filter today and found 60,000+ miles of dirt. Think It gets a new one of those too. Lil Red may ride behind to Twos next year. Scgs aren't real good tourers.
Well I just got home an hour ago. Left Nashville this morning and dodged rain drops but stayed dry. Yes I was working on my own bike this year. By the time I got to Florida it was really ticking. I ordered new lifters and installed them and it's all quiet again! The cruise control would come and go with it not working 90 percent of the time. Seemed to work on cold mornings then fade as the temps went up. I'm thinking cold solder joint somewhere. Good to be home but I'm already missing me some Jim's Smokin Que! Looking forward to Spring and seeing the gang again!
Gretchen and I went up to Jim's yesterday and shared a rack. We got another rack to go, and gifted it to our favorite purveyors of wine on the other side of Blood Mountain.
Good times were had, memories revisited, and the wine flowed like mountain spring water.
