I need a gold watch like I need a hole in the head.
Next stop, Tierra del Fuego...

I'm now the second owner and it only has 5100 miles on it so it'll take a while to wear this one out, I think.

I asked my wife if she would like to go across the country with me on it and she got this big smile and said, "Mayyyy Beee..."
I went, "Maybe? Don't make me have to find some other woman!"
And she instantly turned into Linda Blair from The Exorcist and went,
I'll Kill YA!

Ha!

I had a Sprint 1050 ST. Great bike. The GT made some significant improvements while keeping to the original character of the ST. When it came time to move to another state, some toys had to go, rather than be moved. I had to choose between my XB12Ss or the Sprint ST. I kept the Buell, but it was a tough choice.

One weak point that I don't know if they addressed or not, the ST had a battery that was marginal for the bike. Any hiccup could leave you with a dead battery in a hurry. Mostly a very nice bike though!

That's gorgeous . . . it we gather at the undisclosed location . . . you'll have to ride it over and play some guitar.

That's an awesome looking bike ! !

Thank you, gentleman.
I'll spring for the Super Mosfet kit from roadstercycles before too long.
The original owner put some Pirellis on it and the bike feels like an XB9S which is really surprising, I was expecting it to be a big barge.

I will take you up on that, Court, and will pass on the gold watch, ha, ha.

One other weak point I found on my ST was the front end was way too soft for sporty riding. It was easy enough to solve with a new set of springs and the next heavier weight fork oil.

I still miss my '01 Sprint ST from time to time... that 955 triple motor just sounded SO good, and produced power everywhere. After Vern painted it British Racing Green, Gawwd was it pretty! The latter versions are cool too, but I preferred my more classic sportbike look over the origami styles.

Congrats! Have fun with that thing!

A very beautiful machine.
What I think a touring machine should look like.

The luggage on the GT weighs about as much as a Buell Blast. It's ridiculously robust!
Ebutch, did you find the top case on the ST to make it handle funny? I have an ST and you know what the factory saddlebags are like - thirty pounds and nearly no interior space.

S silver bubble wrap in seat aria + wrap all of header. alreadyuploaded{827871,} See my bags are Large.

Yours is much newer and better looking and improved but bags look smaller.

Looking at your trunk looks not as aerodynamic and much larger than mine.

You had a painted GIVI on that ST, now I see what it is.
The camera angle must be deceiving, the bag on my ST are a lot smaller, the GT has gigantic ones without all of the angles inside.
That top case on the GT is a monster and weighs a ton.
Here's a pic of my ST, no real heat problems but I haven't been stuck in stop and go traffic in the middle of August, either.
The previous owner did stick in a cheapie Chinese voltage regulator which boiled the battery (and a lot of wiring) which was a real nut roaster, all right!

Here is why you want to buy quality spare parts, especially for the charging system...

I replaced the left hand switch, the ignition switch (that one was probably my fault) and then had to disembowel the wiring harness to replace a fried wire which activated the alarm system, leaving me sitting there dead.
What fun!
