Graham, you don't have a spare bed do you? I was thinking about bringing a couple of guitars.I live so close now that I usually ride up and back and don't spend the night but that presents a problem,I can carry one guitar on the bike, not two. |

BUELLISH, My cabin has two single beds. Something can be arranged so the guitars can sleep on property. Bill G |

Well as of right now I'll have some company along with me. My friend that was part of the duo that was turning bad beer into, something else, will be along. He rides two wheelers but not one with an engine. Although he did, at one time, have a Suzuki GT 185 twin cylinder two stroke. He's looking forward to riding the forest trails while we tear up some asphalt. He's also looking forward to beer, bonfires and booze! |

Hey Mike, I'll speak for Graham- yes, lodge room #3 has plenty of room for guitars, BUT- as of last visit, the dang door is NOT secure. Not that I'd worry much at all about theft, but I do know how valuable, $$$ or just sentiment, a guitar can be. Bill or Greg's cabins should be more secure. Vern- well, heyull yeah, come on down for some BBQ! Heck, although I've just got a shoebox of a house, you're welcome to stay over- my sofa is like a big comfy marshmallow, and it'd make the most sense just to stage out to leave from here Friday AM. I'll be calling you to discuss... |

Totally OT, but very interesting- Hey Greg, all youn's into home brewing, check this out- https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2018/04/04/59 9147983/gmo-yeast-mimics-flavors-of-hops-but-will- craft-brewers-bite I <depend> on a particular GMO to live my life (recombinant RNA e. coli that produces human insulin), so I'm somewhat ambivalent. MUCH prefer heirloom varieties of veggies to eat, of course. However, the lack of need for hops due to this yeast is intriguing, because then, no need for the water or land for the hops. Maybe there was/need be another thread? Just throwing it out there... |

Hey Mike - I think Vern and Scott (a friend of Brad's) are sharing the room with me, at least that's the plan. Let me get back to you |

Hey Billg, welcome to the forum! My $.02- Ride the K75. There will be a strong BMW presence there, a dealership from Buford GA IIRC will be there. I was hoping to ride in on my '77 R75/7, not in the cards this time, boo hoo. Oh well... What Mike said too. The roads are great, but the offroads are epic as well. Whatever you do, join the convoy to Jim's Smokin' Butts on Saturday... Dang! Sounds like a serious jam session may happen either or both Friday/Saturday... maybe I can push into October and make things happen...

It's not just the flavor of the hop, it is the hop resin that is emulsified with the wert. This resin is a preservative. The preservative quality of the hop flower is the reason India pale ales are hoppy. The beer was spoiling on the long journey from England, so they hopped the crap out of it. I think the hop farmers are safe. "Craft brewing has always been a GMO-free art form — it was just assumed that we would never cross that line," Bull. The barley and corn we use is GMO. This guy doesn't know where his food comes from. You can buy non GMO grain, but it's much more expensive. Your local homebrew shop, unless it's actually labeled GMO free, sells GMO grain. |

"Growing hops, after all, requires a lot of water and a great deal of space" The areas where hops are grown get plenty of rain or have access to abundant river water resources. Non issue. Land use? Have you seen these places? They're not competing with housing developers. Non issue. |

Bill and Graham,I was actually looking for a spare bed for me,not just the guitars. If there's not one I'll just stay at home, after all I'm only 14 miles away.I've never stayed over night during a Buell event and from past reports it sounds like there's more fun to be had.Although it sounds like it's mostly fueled by alcohol. |

Sorry Greg!! Hoot, I'm with ya. Not too long ago I saw a piece about vertical gardening with hops- didn't seem like they needed huge spaces, just enough. Plus, hops require just the right terroir and microclimate to grow and thrive, just like wine grapes. I know very little about such stuff, but it still fascinates me, trying to learn- kinda like oyster cultivation. Pardon the beery thread jack... I'm counting on youn's for PICS this coming weekend!!! |

@ Mike: "I've never stayed over night during a Buell event"... Dude. Someone here surely will have a spare bed AND room for the geetars!!! You HAVE to stay over, you're missing the FUN!!! Plus, just getting up early and hearing the bikes fire up one by one is just a great way to start the day. Not to mention their breakfasts... |

It's like a slightly toned-down version of what it's like to live in the parking lot at a Grateful Dead concert for 3-4 days at a time, only a lot less STINKY. |

Brad,I always show up for breakfast during Buell events. And it's not like I don't stay at TWO'S,I used to have a few friends from the Badweb come down to TWO for a long weekend back in the 2000's and there's the Guzzi campout,I stayed there during it last year. |

Just something to think about; Matthew has stated that he wants to burn twice as much firewood as last fall. That's a lot of wood! |

Guys, Any Badwebber is welcome to take the second bed in cabin #3. Be it for guitars or a person. From my experience with you guys in WV, the fire pit is a close second to BBQ as the main draw. See Y'all |

Hey Bill, it'll be good to see you again! The fire at TWOS is not as big of a deal as WV but still pretty high up there! Great time no matter what happens. Last time I was there I came in on Thursday and a huge storm hit and we were huddled in the corner on the back porch to escape the rain! The lodge was locked up. We didn't care too much, we still had beer in the cooler! |

OK, please allow me to correct one thing about Firepit Jenga: it's best to start it naturally, NOT with a whole jug of fire starter! (...and, carb cleaner...) Bottom-up natural burn, let the heat/fire work its way up slowly... THEN all can play Firepit Jenga properly! (Although TWoS management probably wouldn't appreciate exploding screw-top beer cans, which is proper for the game... ) Matthew was on a MISSION with that wood last year- if he doubles up, I'm skeered!!! |

Well after a shake down cruise the Road Glide was a little lean at interstate speeds so I raised the needle a 32'nd and now it's running at 14:1 AFR at 70 mph. It'll go richer in warmer temps but on a cold day, that's perfect! The new seat is really comfy. I made some new bushings for my shift linkage out of Delrin. It took all the shake out! Tires are aired and I'm loading it up. I'll be headed to Nashville tomorrow to stay with a friend then head on down to Suches on Thursday. It was a hard decision to take the Harley as I know the roads down there are made for Buells but it's been a year of trial and error trying to get this thing to run like I want it. I really need to get it back on the road! I did have to run out and make one more mod before I could head out...

I'll be departing from my house around 11am, should be at TWoS around 1pm on Thursday. I've got a 9am appointment to get new shoes on the Blackbird. Eric, is Lee going to want to take the Z1000? |

mostly fueled by alcohol ..."mostly"... I have noooo idea what you're talking about... Just don't let me near that 115 proof again... Squids - What's Scott's status? I meant to text you yesterday and today but got caught up with work... Vern - Correct, I've never ridden the Dragon, that'd be great if you can show me around Xena has a couple of Dragon stickers on her from when I bought her, I hope she knows the roads Mike (Buellish) - We'll find you a bed! Is the couch still upstairs? I'll crash on that for a night Xena has fresh Mobil 1 and new HH pads. Work appears to be under control, touch wood. I'm rolling out Thursday morning to be at Squids on Thursday night |

Checkin' in... $.02, G- if there's ANY way my surgeon says I can ride a bit Friday, after my appointment Thursday, I'll lead the way to the TN border either way. It would be best to do the Dragon on the way <home>, after all the curves you'll have in the meantime. I prefer the south/north run by a longshot on 129, especially after the approach from Robbinsville NC. Don't think I'll get to ride... standby, will advise shortly. |

Life is what happens while you're making other plans. My furnace has taken a dump. I have an HVAC tech coming today to check it out, but it's probable that it's going to cost me a lot more than I can afford. Hell; it's costing $90.00 ($89.95, actually) just for him to come look at it and give me an estimate on repair cost. I have a very strong suspicion that I won't have the money to make the rally. It may not be too bad, so I might still be able to go; however, I have my doubts. I'm mailing the stickers to Buellish, so he should have them by Friday. Sorry guys; I was really looking forward to being there. |
