I got to feel like the man I used to be today. I rode the Uly about a hundred miles. Started out at 75 degrees. Overcast, great riding temperature. The interstate for my return trip was stopped for many miles so I figured alternate route was forthcoming after my appointment. So heading back I run through down town Knoxville. UT campus area. Then across the Henly street bridge on to Chapman highway. A couple of miles in traffic stops. Injury accident miles ahead. Inching along for a half hour netted about a mile. So i pull off to eat supper. Time to head home. Starting to rain. Getting dark. Get out my clear shield. Shit I grabbed the wrong one. Well suffer that deal. Dark blue at night sucks when it is not raining. So I go to my rain suit. Damn. It is in my truck where I used it at a rainy day auction last weekend. So I'm wearing my ballistic sponge jacket and mesh summer pants with breathable summer riding boots. I have not ridden much the past couple of years. Certainly not in rain. I had forgotten just how good this Uly is in rain. Inch of running rain water at 70 mph was incredible. So stable, no hydroplane, no ill effects to the bike at all. Me....I got cold and really wet. But the Uly reminded me of one of its greatest attributes. |

Being uncomfortable makes the memory sweeter. Glad you got out there! I'm going camping at the Grand Canyon this whole week on the STT |

I experienced the same thing one year riding in a deluge at 70 mph. I had brand new Pirelli Scorpion Trails on it at the time. It felt solid just as you said. |
