Hey Mark. Nice trailer! Cool that it fits between the fenders. It looks well built. Have seen a few of those Big Tex trailers around. Seem like good stuff.

I am hoping to hit a couple of Jeep Jamboree's in 2018.

Coal Mountain, PA in May & Williamsburg, KY in October.
The trailer is gonna make it a nice trip to and from.

This popped into my life the other day.

Awesome little run about. Quite quick in traffic and a real decent sound system.

I like being able to hop in without bumping my head. Easy effortless drive.

Got to replace front drive shaft before I can see if it really is Jeep material.

No 33's.... 35's?

Just ordered a set of Artec Industries Rear Coil Relocation Brackets. They correct the angle of the rear coils. The lift gives them a banana shape.... and that will be no more once these are installed

You're gonna love the Liberty. I bought one for my wife (well, before she became the ex). Awesome in the snow, simply amazing. Point, gas, go. The only thing I hated? Those stupid power window switches.

There's some lift kits out there for 'em, you can get 33's under 'em easily enough. And they're plenty capable. If I stumble on a cheap CRD, I'll be in trouble (well, not me so much as my 92 XJ - it'll be gone soon as a CRD comes home).

It's an 03. 205,000 miles. Runs excellently, no smoke great oil pressure, no eng codes, not a speck of rust, haul ass little bugger! Got a little work to do but i like it!

33's. Hummmmmm??!?

Etennuly, is the front shaft boot torn or a bad joint?

You can buy rebuild kits for them pretty cheaply since both ends should be a CV joint

I have a used one lined up. It is not even there! The rear joint must have been victim of a bad boot. It shows that It was full of water for a long time before it escaped . the PO repair was to just remove it. Appears axle and transfer case are fine. Probably never even used.

The 4×4 lever has 2WD, AWD, 4x4HI, N, 4LO. That was a surprise. Before I looked I figured it to be push button AWD.

Axles are pretty small. 33's would kill them! Then it would become the CJ nightmare all over! Right Mark?!$$$??!!$$$

I'm just going to fix it up and use it for a commuter through winter. Flip it in spring.

I was only talking about the location of the switches. Whose bright idea was it to put four window switches on the freakin' console? They belong on a DOOR...a driver can get used to them, but a set of passengers who are only in the vehicle once in a while? C'mon guys...put switches where they always go...

Yeah someone had substance abuse issues in that era! The PT Cruisers had them on the dash!

My JK has the window switches on the dash, right below the radio. I have to admit, I'm still trying to get used to that. How else would you be able to roll the windows down with the doors off though?

My son has an HHR with them in the center dash. Yeah. Stupid.

One odd placement I liked was the wiper switch in the driver door on earlier Vettes. In my '04 they went Toyota with it. Separate stick on the right. Hate bumping it when getting sideways. Pisses me off having them run on dry glass until I can get my hand off the wheel.

My Miata has the window switches in the console too. I suppose there is a cost savings to be had. Probably a couple of bucks per car.

speaking of Miata's... I just traded ours along with my wife's Grand Cherokee for a 2018 Toyota TRD 4Runner

I'm sure I took a poking on the trades. BUT! the Yota should last 20 years or so.. I hope

Plus, when the wife gets tired of it, I can jack it up and make proper redneck mobile.

Can't spell 'turd' without TRD!

Seriously nice trucks and way to plan for future upgrades!

Springs are now nice and straight.
The Jeep is also setting level. It was squatting in the back a little.
One before and a couple after.

Awhile back we discussed cheap LED's.

These were $15 from Amazon. They didn't last a year before the reflective coating in the reflector box deteriorated and faded to white plastic. The lights seem to provide ~1/2 of what they used to, for illumination now.
I assume the Chinese chrome coating wasn't UV stable. Plus the lenses leaked so the trapped moisture couldn't have helped.

I've said it before that we vote on the quality of the end product with our check books. I see this all of the time.

I deal with the "do it cheaper" customers and insurance companies all of the time. If I can I would rather buy undamaged original used parts than the aftermarket when available.

Most aftermarket stuff comes in two or more grades. CAPA certified are supposed to be of quality and duration beyond factory specifications. I have seen it miss time and again. Non certified is a crap shoot. Often flea market fodder.

I hate when someone wants to argue lifetime guarantee on a repair shooting from the cheap shot.

My son is building an old XJ for street and trail use. He has been unrelenting in pressuring me to get back to my CJ to get it trail ready. Damn multiple irons in the fire!

That blue Liberty found a new home. Pretty cool vehicle.
