As to the FBI...... the character of top brass there is repeatedly poor. Blackmail, cover ups, going back to before WW2 and Hoover. The refusal to properly investigate Hillary's crimes is just SOP for the FBI. Too political for decades and under Barry, zero credibility.

Or should I go back to the Waco massacre? Coal miner war?

The rank & file FBI officers are generally pretty good. Just as most police in America are.

It's the bad apples that need to be prosecuted. And with Obama appointees. ..... the whole barrel reeks.

Macbuell, in civilian law enforcement you'd be right. I get a warrant to search your house for a stolen horse, & I look under your pillow and find a joint, it's not admissible. No way I could expect to find a horse there. ( it was a different large object but a real example )

In this case it is "investigate rumours of Russian influence that Hillary made up" & no one expected to verify her lies. But ANY Russian contact would do to be used as a weapon and there was contact.

There was contact between Obama's campaign and Russia. Reagan's campaign and Russia. Every president since WW2 had contact. No matter.

All they ever wanted was one twit denial and they figure they got their coup.

You still have to follow the rule of law. Any evidence gained from an illegal warrant should be thrown out. In this case, everything is fruit of the illegal warrant. The only difference in the FISA court and a normal court is the acquisition of the warrant is done in secret. They still have to follow all evidence gathering laws, fourth amendment laws, etc.

Not my words:

quote:

Today was a bombshell, no doubt about it.

Until today, the basic contents and crux of the document was known to very few people. Now… it is an official government statement with a well laid out description of the illegal activity conspired between key political figures and the media to frame Donald Trump in order to stop his presidency.

We have names, companies, agencies, specific media and the journalists who reported on it, sworn testimony, documented intelligence all very specifically cited and mentioned.

We have motive documented in this memo and all of their previous public statements and texts and emails and tweets about Trump back it up to a degree that leaves no wiggle room for doubt about their motive.

Today it became official to the point that every person in government, media and citizens around the world will know about it and comment about it one way or another.

Today, the Democrats and their slime-balls in the swap now have to prove that they did not do what this memo claims. And guess what? They can’t.

Can you imagine the risk Robert Mueller puts himself in, if he is seriously thinking about continuing this charade of an investigative witch hunt?

Today was day number 1 of the public trial against the deep state.

Donald Trump and the People of the United States vs The Establishment Deep State Swamp

The prosecution just gave their opening statement today in this memo. And boy is it juicy. If you are a juror listening to this for the first time, you know that it is so on-the-nose specific that you can’t imagine the bad guys having a defense for it.

From here on… the public cross examinations begin. The ‘prosecution’ will continue releasing more and more memos that detail even more proof of how deep it goes.

But number one most important thing… today was the day that Donald Trump’s protectors just built a protective wall around him, ensuring his safety from the witch hunt. It’s so tainted and stinks so bad, that it officially became impossible for them to even pretend they can continue.

Look for more signs that things are slowing down on the Mueller side.

At this point, the Democrats and their deep state secret society gives up all hope of impeaching or charging Donald Trump, and should be praying that they don’t get indicted.

That’s how this thing has turned.

Since the warrant was illegal, isn't everything from the Mueller investigation fruit from the tainted vine? They can't argue inevitable discovery because there never would have been an investigation.

It sure seems like the warrant wasn't legal, but we don't have all the info. I think the crux of that is if it can be proved that the FISA application would not have been approved if not for the Steele Dossier. It sure sounds like it would not have been approved, but we don't really know what other information they had, apart from news stories based on leaks from the Steele Dossier. It's conceivable they had other more legitimate information.

If the judge who signed the warrants comes out and says "Woah, I'd NEVER have signed those warrants if I'd known this!" or if other similar judges say they wouldn't approve warrants with only the non-dossier information, then it does seem that the warrants and any information obtained under them is null and void. I'm guessing any other information they had is classified because it came from classified sources so it may never be released to the public. I guess we have to rely on congressmen on the House Intelligence Committee to track that part down and take appropriate action.

It does seem to be telling that Democrats on the committee aren't calmly saying "While the information presented in the memo is basically correct, we have established that there were other legitimate sources cited in the FISA application which would have been sufficient for its approval." Instead they're running around wailing that the Republic is doomed.

They were grabbing at straws, while they could. While the public at large still had no idea what was (or wasn't) actually in the memo.

My understanding is, the released memo IS an "edit"...so no telling what was (if anything) edited out prior to release...but as it sits, it's a darned good road map to the guilty parties.

I suspect some of the next steps will be to connect the obvious Clinton factor, back to 0bama himself. I can't wait to see those!

Erik Erickson was talking about the edits on the radio last night. He said there were 42 of them. 40 were grammatical corrections. 2 were on content where 1 was requested by the Dems and the 2nd was requested by the FBI. At least according to his source who he says worked on the actual memo.

Do not misunderstand me. I'm all for politicians going to prison if they commit crimes. Don't care if there is a D or R after their name. Not one bit.

I will giggle extra when a "family values" guy gets busted for prostitution purchases, or a "Law and Order" guy is busted for purchasing a call girl to have nookie on call & takes her across State lines committing sex slave trade violations, like our former Governor, former AG of New York State, "Love Client #9". I'm also going to mock "Race is Politics and Politics is Life" neo-commies when they get busted for keeping illegal aliens as slaves ( brown people, of course ) to be their house servants. Note that every one of the above has in fact happened. Bipartisan hypocrisy.

So understand that I will cheer every member of the Trump crew sent to prison if they indeed, committed a crime. I won't hit joy until the Clintons are in prison. And I've spoken on how it's not our way to prosecute former Presidents. No matter how much Obama deserves to be in Gitmo for a multitude of crimes.

But. Don't jump for joy just because there is now documents showing you were right all along about the very criminal Justice Department and their crimes. Yes,you were right. ( as was I ) Yes, in a criminal case, a falsely obtained warrant would get the rest thrown out.

This is not that way. This is a Special Prosecutor with deliberately broad scope to his investigation, and operating on the Federal Prosecutor = High Inquisition basis, beyond law, well into gotcha and innuendo.

So every single Trump associated individual that had borscht or visited Moscow or was a target of Putin to be an excuse to have a coup, will be named and accused. Every butt covering word that possibly could be construed as a lie is an excuse for extortion tactics.

And these people exist. And were the subjects of attempts to dismiss their connections with the Trump campaign.

I just sat through half an hour of Rachel Maddow cranking through the Carter Page example.

None of this memo crap will make a difference to the ongoing persecution of Donald. Zip. And will be ignored by the Media.

But. You DO now have proof that you are not paranoid about the weaponization of government agencies under Obama. ( your paranoia about other things????? Don't know )

It IS true that criminal conspiracy involved high Justice and FBI officials was and is ongoing. It's true that Obama made his will known. It's true that his appointees committed criminal and treasonous acts to please him. What you won't find is admissible evidence that Obama gave written orders to commit treason.

They've had over a year to destroy the evidence, even though the crimes were too big to completely cover up.

McCabe said they would not have applied for the FISA warrant without the Steele Dossier.

Actually, he testified to that before Congress. Assuming he was in the know, and that is why he was testifying to Congress, then it's either true, he he committed a crime. To argue now, that it wasn't needed to get the warrant would be arguing that you perjured yourself in front of Congress.

In short, according to McCabe, without the dossier, they would not have even gone before the FISA court to get the warrant. No warrant - no investigation. Sure seems like everything that follows should be considered tainted. None of this matters though. The intent was never to prosecute Trump, but simply to smear him. Mission accomplished, at least to some degree. The real mission was to smear him enough to have him fail in the election. Had that happened, almost certainly, none of this would have become known. I can only imagine the panic that they must have felt on Wednesday after the election. They must have felt the world crashing down upon them. I hope they continue to feel the crashing. They deserve to rot in jail. Actually, they deserve much worse!

>>>They deserve to rot in jail.

I'd agree with that.

I read the "memo" and am going to re-read it.

But . . .based on a single reading . . . I am not seeing this thing gaining any traction.

Don't misread that to infer that it shouldn't . . . . and I think it's much more than political bickering.

If I want to say or do something, legally, to smear Bernie . . Hillary or anybody . . that's cool and it's protected behavior.

But . . invoking the Federal government and the courts as a weapon crosses lots of lines.

Unfortunately. . . . since the day the "cum hit the carpet" America's standards, in terms of what just get passed by, pretty much went in the gutter.

This will make for a lot of good back and forth name calling . . . some Twitter jabs . . and a couple Instagram posts . . . but . . like the Las Vegas shooting and the last air disaster . . . it'll quickly become "last week's news".

I dream back to a day when I'd be dead wrong.

I agree with Court, that it'll fizzle in the spotlight.

However, I hold to the belief that our President is a bulldog, and he truly has the draining of the swamp square in his sights. I have to believe this will continue, under the media radar, until some actions - firings, prosecutions, sentencing - are taken.

And those are the actions of the GOP. We'll truly see how much truth is in these revelations, if we start to see the characters mysteriously robbed and gunned down...

Yep. This is where it all falls apart. The "meme-oh" is just a fractional part of the intelligence used to obtain the FISA warrants.

We (now) know that Carter Page and Papadopoulos were already under suspicion of having contacts with known Russian agents, and warrants were obtained for the purposes of tracking their movements.

The Steele dossier may have portions that independently corroborate intel we gained from the surveillance of Page and George P. We don't actually know, because the smart thing to do in all of this is what the FBI/IC, and others were already doing, vetting intel of an active investigation before anything gets said in public.

The whole reason the HIC/FBI and others were hesitant to release any information like this is because it raises a lot of questions related to classified techniques of spycraft, and we end up showing way too much of our hand to other nations.

In essence, the memo just shows that if you surround yourself with sketchy people making sketchy contacts with known elements in foreign govts, you will get on the radar of the FBI. The Steele dossier may have been interesting for any number of reasons, but it is wholly disingenuous to paint it like it was the sole thing and thus a political hitjob because of it's origins.

The main point, and the reason why it's upsetting to the FBI, and those who care about our intelligence community and justice depts, is that it gives away enough to raise questions that will aid 1) counter-surveillance from non-allies and 2) undermines our own domestic efforts while casting aspersions on our DOJ/FBI and intel community at large. It's just such a political hack job it's unbelievable.

The scary part is, if team Trump is going to play this card as a reason to try and dismantle the investigation (having tested the reaction waters with this memo and you'll noticed the frenzied increase in activity from our fermented potato drinking friends) - they might just be stupid enough to try it.

Honestly with the Russia sanctions suspended, the TOP level sanctioned spies making house calls to the CIA, this shit is playing out like something directly out of the Putin playbook. Stoke some moral and political fervor over routine FISA procedure, claim it was all a hack job, and shut it down. The GOP are looking at this nervously thinking "this shit won't work in a democracy" but so far nobody has outright said "we're going to get blown up if you do this." I mean the smoke is there, Trump has a proven track record of hiring highly suspect characters, why would any of this be cause for ending an investigation that has already yielded 4 arrests? The main one being your NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR who couldn't tell the truth to the FBI?

If Putin really has Trumps ear in some way, he may be egging him on to try and end the investigations. Because so far, it looks like the GOP is holding the line on not moving to stop it from happening, if anything they have guys like Nunes actively encouraging it.
