..sugar free water too...don't forget that......unless it has sucarose/dextrose,etc.....i love that...they say its sugar free,the product,but if one digs deeper and reads the ingredients label(fine print area)..there's where the culprit lies...i know have found it many a times....and those two are worse than processed sugar.How do i know?Just got done dealing with colorectal cancer and no more sugar(been related to cancer in so many ways) and also about the gluten free stuff...i have the lovely fortune ...or not of having...wait for it.....Celiac disease,so NO GLUTENS...but yeah it really amazes me and gets me, too, that those will use that to one's companies advantage to place that on the label and charge the consumer a higher amount.....whisky tango foxtrot.....or ,Sifo...uncooked water..there ya go.....even better oxygenated water,....yeah good ole snake oil salesmen updated to the new millenial...sheesh....kick stands for your horse...and cows(no more cow tipping,folks)...and that ever popular"muffler bearings"...and and...wait....'Blinker Fluid'......or getting a length of "Flight Line"......  | ||

+1. Gotten into the habit of reading almost every label on a food item... sometimes an impressive level of creativity is involved in the package design. Lately I've discovered these "cold pressed" juice blends, with kale and lemongrass and yaddayadda at my local discount grocer. Normal retail on each bottle can push $3-4, I found them for $1 or 2 for $1. One of the kids I work with, who I call a "neo-hippie", all into that stuff- I cued him into where to get them for good money. I tried a couple for the price I paid, OK I guess, one was like I made a juice drink with grass clippings. On a serious note- it's well worth the time taken to study all the packaged foods. Salt in particular is just ridiculous. Tuesday we may be planning a porkchop dinner, but my sweetie tends to see an uptick in her BP after eating about ANY pork. So, I contacted a local high-end butcher, had an interesting conversation. As I asked about different meats, their source and such, he just rattled off exactly where they came from, how they were raised, et cetera. Very impressive. I'll just say that despite most folk's buying behavior is driven by price, I'll be happy to pay more for quality and purity. We're more likely to pay more $$$ for our pet's and motorcycle's benefit than for our own sustenance. (Message edited by 86129squids on January 28, 2018) |
