"If it's hard mounted, the engine makes a good frame brace, I suppose."

Draw lines through the load path. It's not a triangle, it's a four sided polygon. They need to gusset all those corners or redesign the bracket so that there is another bolt farther down the engine. Though the Buell motor hangs from those same two bolts, the frame isn't subject to hinging, so there is not that kind of bending force on those bolts (they still sometimes break, which doesn't bode well for this frame's longevity).

I am NOT an engineer by any means but I am very good at figuring and logic and the way that front brace mounts with how these motors move will be an issue!!!!
Throw in there it’s aluminum not steel with no flex and there is disaster in the making.

When the Buell XB Firebolt came out, there were lots of people and magazines who "Knew" that it would be a disaster because it didn't come with a steering dampener (you have to keep those steers wet, ya know). Then, I started seeing magazines from Europe that praised how good it handled to the point where one magazine called it the best handling street motorcycle of all time and the testers were giggling about how they were able to drag their elbows in the turns.

These guys are building a beautiful bike. If there are problems with the way they've done it, I'm sure they'll come up with improvements.

They're actually building a bike from scratch. They're using their own ideas and the bike is very pretty. The machine work is gorgeous. And a lot of the flex will be minimized by the rigidity of the engine.

I posted the link because I was impressed by the beauty of the machine work and the fact that they're trying to build a bike that handles better than a stock Sportster.

And even if it doesn't work out, I bet it'll outhandle anything that rolls out of OCC or Jesse James stable. And it'll look one hell of a lot prettier.

I do agee with you they will run across issues and go through redesign and they are doing a great job.
I do think it will handle better than OCC but I would not go up against Jesse James in any engineering fashon as that guy is an out right blue collar genius.

Like I said, it will be interesting to see what the finished frame looks like.

I wouldn't call the CNC work, "Beautiful". If it was beautiful, they wouldn't have had to polish it.

Don't get me wrong, this is GOOD work. But they probably lack the tooling, fixturing, and machine tool to truly make it as machined, beautiful.

I'd love to show you some beautiful cnc work. But most of what I do lately is aerospace, and Tesla, and other automotive prototypes. And be in some serious trouble posting pics.

They'd highly benefit using a decent 5 axis machine

I get what you're saying Steve but sometimes the tooling marks remind me of engine turning which I consider attractive as long as they're not too rough!

Who knows, once they get all the bugs out maybe they will polish it all out.

Well; here's a very different Sportster. It's based off a new Roadster with a few modifications. I can see me riding something like this to the Beaufort Sea.

There's a thread about it over on the XL Forum:

Yeah, but it has better suspension and I believe the engine should be more reliable. Also, it's fuel injected, which means that it should run better and give me improved fuel mileage.

I dont know. Too small of a frame look wise for bags and such. If you want a cruiser by a cruiser why take a small bike and attempt to make it look like a mini me of a bigger bike?

I have 85,000 miles on my current Roadster. It's taken me through all 48 contiguous stares and up into the Canadian Rockies. Here's mine for comparison:
