@FBI says texts are missing? Don't believe it. As @JudicialWatch has found with "missing" and "deleted" Hillary Clinton and Lois Lerner emails, Deep State statements about "missing" electronic documents often turn out not to be true.

The FBI says that they "Failed to Preserve" Peter Strzok text messages from Dec. 14, 2016 - May 17, 2017. DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz says his office DOES have the messages.

Kind of makes my point though. It's near impossible to make these things actually go away. They do manage to hide them long enough to survive an investigation though. This has become a clear pattern. It really isn't that hard to figure out where they have been archived if you want to find them. It'a pretty basic backup procedures, done millions of times per day by private businesses around the world. Some how, our government manages to screw it up, with very select individuals, for very select dates, right when those records are needed most. They are pissing on us and telling us it's raining.
I'm 63 I'm from Texas LBJ and Ladybird are icons of mine.
LBJ had more shit on anybody in Congress and used it for the best of the country. not himself Ladybird had wildflowers planted across the state that still bloom.
My perspective on LBJ is from one who was preparing to go to Vietnam when his draft number came up, and returning upper classmen were coming back with tales of ROEs that were insane, The news was talking about stopping Bombing as a "signal" for peace, and peace marches sponsored by the KGB were in the major cities.
As a Senator? I'll take your word. Even "Chuck You" Schumer of New York, a man who's policies I generally disagree with, and Honesty is a mysterious illusion, does a great job of bringing in the bacon to his constituents. Even the right wing local nut job radio guy admits that, between rants on his bringing the bacon to pay off his campaign supporters. So it goes.
Holy shit is this an echo chamber or what?? Fb1 contributes 99% of all of the posts in this thread which subsequently link back to a conservative opinion blog and the other 1% of the posts are stroking Fb1's posts like a 12 year old boy. If you don't realize that you're all being brainwashed then there's really no hope for you old white men.
I think it is safe to say Fb1 is a bit of a Trump fan. I'd expect him to post a lot here, just as I often post on the science thread.
The stroking part might be in your head. Posting the latest news on the Game Show President, you can chose between:
the Establishment Republican view, which is mostly that his twitting is destructive to decorum, ( true, but they are living in a fantasy world where actually getting shot because of lack of decorum on the D side doesn't count. )
The Democrat view which is whatever lie is in this weeks list. Gay bashing, racist, Russian Prostitutes, and whatever swear word one person claims he heard. I'm all for criticism of the President. I certainly did plenty of it the last 8 years. I just insist it be fact based, or at least an attack on the guy's ( until Condi Rice becomes the first female president ) ideology. Lies don't count as criticism. Claims that Donald is a fill in the blank hater never have any facts attached, and are ad hominem attacks based on.... nothing. It was fairly easy to attack Obama on ideological grounds. He did have the ghost written biographies to inform us of his pretended inner beliefs, and they are consistently Marxist-Leninist, with occasional Maoist seasoning. And poorly remembered Marxism. He absorbed the tactics of deceit, but wasn't as interested in the economic theory. ( per his own words )
Donald, OTOH.... what IS his ideology? You tell me. He was a Democrat until a few years ago, and may be as poll driven as Bill was. He does seem to at least make a shot at keeping his promises. A lot of the friction I read about in his White House may be because he doesn't have an ideology to guide him, just a list of action points. ( probably kept in The Football along with the Launch Codes )
The third view is the Republican Never Trumpers and pragmatists, probably best shown at National Review, who are not at all shy about telling us all what a goober Trump is, and how his tactics are doomed to failure. But they also, reluctantly, admit his successes, although they seem like they want to spit every time they do.
Then there's the "normal conservatives", not the ivy tower types like at National Review. They tend to be either fans, because they've been screwed so long by so many, and Trump attacks the establishment. Or reluctant and grudging folk who constantly write editorials on how you can't count on Trump to be a Christian, or a Conservative, or a Whatever, but do like some of his policies. ( see above on ideology... of course you can't count on Trump to follow your chosen one. He's got a list, instead. And he has to remember to look at it more often )
So what's your take on LBJ, Julie? Are you old enough to remember Haiphong Harbor? Or is he just an old dead white man you didn't pay attention to in school?
The problem is . . . once the Obama administration got caught being up to their eyebrows in corruption, collusion and undertaking illegal activities . . . things are starting to unravel on them.
Debbie Whatsername Shultz gets caught taking money from Hillary to basically squash Bernie . . .
Bill Clinton drags Loretta onto a plane and tells her how things are gonna be.
Now we find out that when they couldn't find any facts the F.B.I. and D.O.J. started making them up.
The Democrats should be ashamed.
Fortunately it took a reality TV guy to bravely interceded and say "enough is enough".

As the facts are showing Trump's policies to be very successful in improving the economy, and facts are coming out that there was a large conspiracy at the highest levels of our government to weaponize those government agencies against conservatives, all that is left is personal attacks. It's OK. We understand.
I think it is safe to say Fb1 is a bit of a Trump fan.
Yup. What's not to like? I did my homework prior to the election, vetted my news sources, weighed my political options, and chose my horse.
I can't help but continue to be impressed by President Trump's accomplishments (which would be historic in the best of circumstances, but are made all the more so considering The Machine he's up against ((and the one he's currently dismantling))).
The Democrats should be ashamed.
As should plenty of Republicans. There has been, up until a year ago, only one party in the District of Corruption: the Uniparty. That flushing sound we're currently hearing is a shitonne of RINO's going down the drain along with the D'rats.
...[T]he facts are showing Trump's policies to be very successful in improving the economy...
Yup.

When the four-page memo (actually penned and originally distributed by the conspirators "at the highest levels of our government"?) is ultimately set free, I think we're going to learn it's even worse than that.
President Donald Trump’s occasional unfiltered coarse cloudbursts belie a man who is enormously joyful, having an abundance of entertaining good humor easily expressed, fairly shared. Trump is having a ball, for good reasons.
Trump’s first year as president may have been the most extraordinary since the 1840s. While Trump has disrupted almost all presidential governance and communication norms, his tenure so far has produced capital market gains of some $7 trillion, spreading investment wealth to millions of regular Joes and Marys, while tax cuts have already distributed $3 billion in bonuses and wage hikes to over 2 million workers and counting.
The Trump-inspired American economic revival, accompanied by a cultural earthquake in newfound respect, self-esteem, and optimism for working-class citizens, rural and urban – ignored and maligned since the industrial heartland was eviscerated in the 1980s – matches the economic and territorial expansions under presidents John Tyler and James Polk.
I for one like your posts. It makes it easier for someone like me to digest.
Obama said he'd be the most transparent president ever. Trump has shown what transparency really means.
As long as there's a choice, I'll never vote for a politician again!
Holy shit is this an echo chamber or what?? Maybe, if you think this is the only site we visit.
For the Democrat's side, I usually go to reddit, at least there, if you try, you can find intelligent people with a different view. Without all, the name calling, and faux trolling.
I for one like your posts. It makes it easier for someone like me to digest.
Gracias!
This one's from *gasp* CNBC - another crack in the proverbial dam?
quote:
A year into Trump’s presidency, conservatives have reason to be pleased with the judicial branch. Since Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2017, the GOP-majority Senate has confirmed 23 judges to lifetime posts. The figure includes 50-year-old Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and a dozen Circuit Court of Appeals judges — the latter a record for a president’s first year.
I too enjoy your posts. I skim American Thinker and National Review but not most other conservative sources. So I get fresh views from you ( Fb1) that I'd miss, including the CNN stuff I pass over. Pravda is endemic.
I also feel free to argue and never worry about ad hominem attacks or petulant hiding from almost everyone here. We certainly don't always agree.
It may help that some seem to share my take on Government intrusion on private life. The three levels of government meddling. ......... "None of your business", "None of your Damn business", & "no wonder you want to take our guns".

Thank you. I enjoy your posts, as well, including sourcing that I sometimes miss (or speed-gloss over).

No, we don't...which is entirely normal. We all have our own opinions, formed by our own life experiences. There's more than one definition of "right."
I appreciate intelligent debate.
I don't/won't participate in ad hominem; life's too short to waste my ever-more-precious energy.

Something I seldom see President Trump given due props for: he doesn't want to take away our guns.
Mike Rowe was on Tucker's show last night, talking about the woman who said he should be fired because he's "anti-science" and "anti-education" (that facebook exchange was posted here last week I believe). Rowe made a good comparison that sounded offhand...but upon reflection, it's kinda scary.
First Amendment, Second Amendment. There is a large movement in this country to take BOTH away from us. Just look at how things are going with identity politics and all the SJW's. No matter WHAT you say, you have no right to say it because it's racist/sexist/fascist/oppressive.
I rob a bank, you, a rich guy rob a bank, ( with guns & masks like a tv show, not fraud ) we should both get the same punishment. Ditto, I beat up a guy on the street, some very poor guy beat up a guy, we should be treated the same. Color of hair, eye or skin has nothing to do with it. It shouldn't matter if you are Republican, Socialist, Mormon, or Wiccan. Equal under the law, with safeguards to prevent it being "the judge liked him" which is rule by personality.
Social Justice is mob rule. Punishment based on "likes" and popularity. That's just wrong. Popularity should have no effect on the law, except where you can convince the law makers to change. ( alcohol prohibition is a good example )
Worse, Social Justice Warriors DEMAND not just obedience to an ever changing standard, they actively punish those who question any aspect of their reign of terror.
Let us say I don't agree with your viewpoint on Global Warming, or What you want to be called. ( him, her, zur??? )
SJW's insist I am committing a crime and should be put in prison. Or even executed for pointing out fraud. ( not a joke, not even an anonymous threat, a serious proposal by public figures )
"Ditto, I beat up a guy on the street, some very poor guy beat up a guy, we should be treated the same."
Are you the same? Of course not but you are both individuals and in that respect our simplistic and clunky justice system more or less attempts a goal of blind judgment and an attempt at a fair outcome with a tiny bit of consideration of your individualism.
Social justice is an aspiration for our great nation to wrestle with over the centuries. We won't get it close to right for a very long time but this nation is not about doing just the safe, easy, comfortable things from times past but a struggle toward a more perfect nation of people.
Not everyone sees such a social evolution as a worthy one but it will continue. The Nation often follows the States. And it often starts in our institutions. Those uncomfortable with change (and aren't we all uneasy with change) will fight the change and even the changing institutions. But eventually evolution happens and we have a bit more perfect nation.
