Looks like one end of something with leveling feet. See if you can find another one, mount something on them so you can level it. | ||

As a child if I asked my Grandfather a question like this he'd say "Its a wigwam for a goose's bridle to wind up the sun with" Then burst into laughter as I'd be none the wiser. Could be a jig to hold something while using a grind stone or lathe or maybe a wacky torture device? | ||

Were did you found it? Could be something from a snow sled maybe!? To me it looks like a part of the track of a caterpillar vehicle. | ||

I think Spidey has it nailed. A friend of mine picked it up as part of a larger lot of items, and asked me what I thought it might be. I did the only intelligent thing I could think of...I asked badweb. | ||
