I ended up next to a 69 Dodge Challenger on a winding 4 lane though town. My 1976 VW Scirocco with a header and Weber carb had a pretty good power to weight ratio. The challenger nailed it at the light so I had to defend myself. I was ahead of him at 70 in a 35 when my old whistler radar detector beeped one time. I eased out and let him pass then nailed the brakes. He must have stayed in it because as I made it around the bend the cops had him lit up already. Close call! I don't think I would have been able to talk my way out of that one! I think I've gone off topic again. It's just so easy to talk about how stupid we were, and still are sometimes! I wonder what these snowflakes say after they've been pulled over? There BOT. | ||

Great going OT here. I've got actual snowflakes falling here in Mur-vil... I used to be fast. That's why I sold the Triumph, I'd like to get a bit older. But I do remember a weekend down in N. GA chasing Tom B., Tim, Barker, and another lunatic on a Husky supermoto on my CityX around the mountains... we blew by a county Mountie at triple digits a few miles below the turnoff for Richard Russell. Made that turn QUICK.  | ||

Yeah...I'd been at the track all day. I did have my DOT tires back on...but methinks the 12.79 may have been a bit of a giveaway... I don't think I was running race gas at the time. I don't remember smelling it, anyway (the track sells it, but only the "scented" stuff so you smell like a bottle of grape Nehi going down the track!). That night I tossed a razor-blade scraper in the glovebox right next to the white shoe polish, soon as I got home! It's just so easy to talk about how stupid we were, and still are sometimes! ...and yet, we're still HERE to talk about it. Plenty of times I look back at vignettes of my life and shake my head and wonder "I'm still here....?"  | ||

I'm sorry. I'll admit I don't follow team sports in general...but I have yet to EVER hear of someone being called a "player owner". They're "TEAM OWNERS". They own the TEAM. In other words, the franchise. Name. Image. Merchandising. They own - as Cuban says - the BUSINESS, not the people. Players are employees of the team. And just like any other employee, they are (well...should be) expected to play by certain company rules pertaining to decorum, dress, behavior, and the like. Don't follow the rules? YOU'RE FIRED. I love Mark's line about "I'll be happy to pay for his business courses". That's awesome. | ||

And watching dash cam video from around the world, I never want to drive in India. Makes New Jersey seem sane. Ditto Russia. ( overly represented because of the number of cameras ) Jokes about women? Yep. Gonna tell them. They're going to mock us. We deserve it. Gay men jokes? You betcha. I may preface them with the observation that the worst aspects of male hook up culture are amplified when you take away the female moderating influence. You'd think "wanna screw?" as a pick up line would be great, until you see it in action. ( my lesbian friends have taken me to gay bars to go dancing. It kinda bummed me out not to get hit on. Until the gals explained that the gay guys can tell. I don't have gaydar. For all I know I miss cues every day. ) Of course I don't tell lesbian jokes. They'd kick the crap out of me. ( & I've trained some in martial arts ) So. Don't let ANYONE try and make you feel shame about your color or sexual preference or ancestor origin. They are mean and probably evil people who want to rip you off in many ways. | ||

The racism angle is based on the inherent economic failures of the left themselves. As an unrepentant counter revolutionary I think the racism and economic failures are deliberate. But what do I know? I only read their manual that explicitly states their intentions and tactics. Purely objectively I have to say "good job". Guess the new tax law will make them happy - more jobs, bonuses for workers, and less money being withheld from paychecks. Ought to make those "higher property value" places more accessible! Once again, an article decrying the "evil" of commercialism and capitalism. How about all the money the VENDORS at the farmers' markets are making? Oh. Wait. They're usually not white, so they're not part of the problem here. It's all the customers' fault, not the fault of the organizations who place, organize, and maintain the markets...damn profiteers! ....and collapsing bridges are where we'll finally start to see physical evidence of the harm that is quotas. I've said all along, someone doesn't get the job unless they're qualified. Not based on skin color or background or gender...QUALIFICATIONS. Period. "Inclusion" is nothing but quotas for education. Except the trend we're seeing in education isn't just quotas - not just a case of "let the blacks and minorities in" - it's becoming a case of "reshape the entire institution so IT fits THEM." Everyone gets a trophy. Nobody fails. Everyone is good enough. Nobody is excluded, if they WANT to do it we're required to make sure they CAN. Except....physics doesn't play favorites. Nor does math. Shits gonna fall down, and blow up, if this is how we're going to "educate" people and those people become engineers or rocket scientists based on the "new" system. It doesn't matter your color or gender. Stupid people are stupid. Period. Smart people are smart. Period. It has zero basis in background or personal "wants", it's simply a fact. Some people - myself included (a "priveliged white male", for the record) - simply aren't cut out to design space vehicles or computer circuits or highway overpasses. Discriminatory against me? Nah. It's just stuff I can't do. The problem with today's system is, the mentality that "we can't tell ANYONE that they can't do something because that's not nice". So we're ending up with a generation of incompetents. Not only that, but by being told they can do something they're not qualified for...they (and we) are missing out on the chance for them to get good at something they CAN handle, but don't even try, because they're too busy focusing on what they WANT to do (but they suck at). | ||

I'm already seeing it at the ground level... Driving trucks is not a difficult job, but there is a lot of attention to detail required.. They are literally GIVING AWAY commercial driver licenses, and HazMat certifications to people who cannot possibly read or comprehend the test required to get them! My... drivers... are... mostly... complete IDIOTS. I'd like to call them "functional idiots", but I think I'd be insulting the functional idiots. | ||
