Due to the forecast of two days of steady rain melting all of the snow followed immediately by a deep freeze Saturday night (turning all of that water to ICE) The Ramapo Motorcycle Club has postponed the 100th running of the Crotona Midnight Run till the following weekend (January 20/21). | ||

Thank you, I didn't see any about that when I checked their Facebook page early this morning. I'm still not sure if I'll be doing it this year, to many variables. | ||

Yeah, there's a discussion on their "Event Page" that I started. You'd think they'd update their web page FIRST, and then modify the Event invitation but as of early this afternoon neither had occurred. Instead, it's all been "Word of Mouth." | ||

I saw Froggy last night at the sign up. I'll post some photos later. Hope everything went well (I didn't participate, just took an excuse for a ride up to Congers, NY from the island and accompanied another friend of mine who did participate). | ||

Congratulations, Froggy, on completing the 100th Crotona Midnight Run in 6th place in the Novice Class. There were 30 entrants in all, on 29 motorcycles. Wonder if there'll be a 101 running next year? | ||

That was way better than expected, I totally blew it on the return leg then just followed others. I did make one big mistake on the way up, missed a turn on a highway which resulted in a good 3 or 4 miles of detour and backtracking before I could make the two uturns. Damn jersey barriers. On the way back I missed a turn and I was several miles past before I realized, so I ended up dong my own custom route to get back on track and I had no way of figuring out how to compensate. | ||
