I was scanning Motorcyclist Magazine's site, ran across this article:

https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/twisted-road-is -sort-like-uber-for-motorcyclists#page-4

In short, it's a service that allows folks to list their motorcycles for rent... sounds like a super cool concept!
Whatcha think, youn's?

I wouldn't do it to a bike I like, Buy an XB with a salvage title and rent it out!

A buddy came to visit and rented a Tiger 800 from Ear;le rider. Had a bit of a low side doing nothing crazy and broke off the bag mount and passenger per bracket right off the frame. Scaped up the plastic, TS broken, barend off...

They could not have cared any less.

Sounds like a bad idea.

Twisted roads, however, are fun.

Without Traffic that's a straight line!

That wouldn't be much fun. I spend most of my riding time trying to make turns where there aren't any!

OK then. I remember that ad, always liked the ad campaign.

If you happened to READ the article I posted, if you list your bike for rental, it can be insured for this service for up to $15,000.

Yeah, I'm still old-school, not gonna loan out my bikes or my women. But, if their formula works, it's intriguing.
I'dve like to rent someone's bike out there in Vegas when I was there, but not at the going rates for most HD/BMW blahblah dealershits.

It's good to have your bike covered, but how is the liability covered? I don't want to be liable if a renter runs over a brain surgeon with 25 years of career ahead of him. No signed waiver would help you there!

I don't know why they are calling it like Uber when it is not like it at all. The automotive equivalent is Turo.

This is very tempting, most of my bikes are sitting around doing nothing 99% of the year, it would be nice to make a couple bucks on them.

Although I really enjoy the twisty's too the elevation changes on that road could also be straight line wheelies or just pure airborne!

It sounds to me like some folks need to take a trip down to Suches.

Nice Twisty roads and Jim's Smokin' Que, as well as Two Wheels of Suches.

Met a guy on a ride one time who was touted as a real fast rider. Was told no one will keep up with him. When he passed me I found out out why.

The man had no clue that the yellow lines were there, or concern for their meaning. I was laid over in my lane burning down a chicken strip when he flew by straight up in the other lane.

He would not make a single turn input on a road like the one pictured. Looks like fun to me!!

Worse... When the renter is the young brain surgeon, and is now a turnip. Of course, because the bike wasn't well maintained! Run a business like this for long, and you will be sued.

There's a lot of times when I will adjust my line to let me turn more. Do I care that I'm way off what would be a "racing line"? Not one bit!

We did a lot of rentals when I worked for the HD dealer.

Logistical (and insurance) NIGHTMARE.

"I'm sorry Mr. Customer, but you WILL take the additional insurance coverage for $xx a day".

When I worked at the RV dealer, the owner figured "hey, renting RVs will be a great way to generate some extra revenue". Don't do it, I told him...he did it anyway.

The FIRST unit that went out was a 28' class C...and the renter drove it right into a fuel pump. Turned too tightly, tore the whole side off the RV in addition to wrecking the pump.

"told ya, boss..."

Yeah- I did lots of rentals while still at SMHD. Generated quite a bit of revenue for the service department. There were a few times when I talked the folks out of renting, they were obviously out of their element.
