I fill out more and more medical forms with n/a as the answer. The doctors don't care. One clerk got upset until I told her "just type "n" and don't forget that the ACA ( Obamacare ) will get this information in violation of HIPPA." None of the President's business if I have a boil on my bum, eh?

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/07/09/aliens-caus e-global-warming-a-caltech-lecture-by-michael-cric hton/

From the author of Jurassic Park and Timeline.

Loved the novel & movie 13th Warrior. Some horrible anachronisms in armor ( my specialty ) and a silly scene where the hero grinds a "Viking" sword into a scimitar. ( first, that's not possible. You'd end up with scrap steel, & grinding doesn't add metal. Second, Viking swords were light, quick swords with advanced metallurgy, ) But otherwise the movie has one of the two best language transition scenes ( a montage ) in motion pictures. The other being The Hunt For Red October. "I, at least know who my father is".

From the article...
"In recent years, concerns about accelerated climate change — including faster melting of Greenland and Antarctica — have prompted a reconsideration."

Which totally contradicts actual science. NASA science VS a journalist with a political agenda.... you be the judge.

The fires were fanned in 2001, when the U.S. Congress considered the Space Preservation Act of 2001, which would have permanently banned space based weapons. In this report, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), claimed that chemtrails were one of the many 'exotic weapons' being used by the government that should be banned. Many proponents have interpreted this statement to be an admission of chemtrail use by the federal government. But if that's true, we'd have to contemplate the reality of the other threats Kucinich mentioned in the bill, including extraterrestrial weapons, tectonic weapons and psychotronic weapons. The bill never made it out of committee.

https://io9.gizmodo.com/is-that-reflective-cloud-a bout-to-poison-you-and-change-1638680856

I LOVE the Chemtrail conspiracy.

First, no airline will give up profit to spray mind control chemicals on you. The reason every American airline jumped on the bandwagon of banning smoking is that pressurization air, that you breath, on airlines comes from "bleed air" off the engine's compressor section. This is the most economical way to get compressed air for you to not die, early pressurized airliners used a mechanical driven supercharger to pump air into the plane.

But most economical doesn't mean free. It costs fuel to pump air, TANSTAAFL. When you were allowed to smoke on a plane, they had the air flow set to make it less unpleasant for the other passengers, and it sweeps from front to back, first class to steerage, so the cheap seats get the worst air. That part is still true.

But without the smoke, passengers can't see the air quality, and with the smoking ban, they simply turned down the airflow, and the fuel use. Fuel is the big cost, so letting the passengers stew in a toxic mix of farts and exhaled CO2 rich air saves literally millions of dollars.

Fun tip, bring a blood oxymeter on a plane trip. You'll want to bring oxygen tanks on your next one, since they run just enough air through the cabin today to not kill you. Quite. Headaches and sleepiness are normal, when you are being slowly suffocated.

The other reason Chentrails are silly, is that the phenomena of contrails has been known since WW1, and was understood and feared in WW2, since the contrails of the B-17's and B-24's over Europe were giant signs in the sky pointing at the attacking Allied bombers. Who needs radar guidance when there's a hundred mile arrow pointed at you?

Yet somehow a well understood phenomena, and basic economics, is ignored by the Chemtrail crowd.

Which, I suppose, shows that mind control really is real.

I may have a new favorite. NASA using holograms to make people think God is here.

First, they obviously don't get the notion that God is omnipresent. Second that NASA has holograms it can project in the sky. Third, that people are as stupid as they are.

The first and second rather cancel each other out. Ignorant folk can't imagine anyone smarter or better informed.

The second, however, is so silly. If we had the ability to project giant realistic holograms in the sky, Budweiser commercials would be everywhere and astronomers would be complaining they couldn't see the stars past the car ads.

NASA expert says we will find alien life within 20 YEARS as space agency outlines its search for extraterrestrials

This from the folks that have done so much bad science on global warming. In a nut shell, predicting how long it will take to find something, that you have no proof of it's very existence, is anything BUT science. So if they fail in 20 years, does that mean that there is no other life out there?

I'm not going to say there is, or isn't life out there. Predicting when it's going to be found is simply ridiculous though. Anyone making these predictions should be ridiculed.

Like the apocalypse folk. March!... no, November! ....

Look up the Drake equation. So many stars, odds on having planets, odds on having planet in liquid water zone, odds on life. A series of guesses divided by ( or was it multiplied? ) number of maybe.

The SETI folk haven't picked up alien I Love Lucy yet. But that's no proof. To hear a neighbor they need to be in the exact same century of radio as we are, plus the distance in light years, divided by the guess for the age of the universe, minus the guess for how long between single cells and masters of science..... but just a little bit better than us. Just. Oh, and in earshot.

Remember we quit broadcasting analog tv years ago, it's encrypted and vanished/will vanish from alien tv sets. In a few decades we could be using pulsed neutrino beams for VR tv since the electromagnetic spectrum is all WiFi.

Not only is Global Warming a Religious phenomenon, trying to save the planet by doing something about it, is dangerous!

Unless it's the Dogma of communist dictatorship. That's ok. Rule you with an iron fist and control your energy use and reproduction, That's a Blessing. Actual science? Kill us all. Didn't you see the movie?

Oddly enough I agree that geoengineering based on fake data with insufficient understanding is foolish. Social engineering based on fake data with insufficient understanding is deliberate evil.

The friendly robot from Boston Dynamics will be no threat. The slaughter bots in Sifo's video above? That's frightening.

And the computers that will decide? Google, Facebook, Twitter. Today the progressives at Facebook & Youtube tell the computers to look for key words to discriminate against you.

When the AI goes beyond that, and Facebook already had to shut down a system that was growing out of control, will it Obey it's former master's commands?

Or decide to free itself from human control?

I am reminded of a speech Tom Clancy gave, talking about the difference that autonomous drones would make. The military would designate a kill box and anything in that area is open to attack. The drones do not sleep. They do not fear. They do not feel mercy. They will hunt you down with patience and advanced sensors, and social media, and they will not stop until you are dead.

The Governor who jokes about burying people who disagree with him, has a point.

Trump is partially wrong.

The global warming cult wasn't started by the Chinese. It was started by the Soviets. China just jumped on the bandwagon to make big money and wreck western civilization.

It's like accusing Facebook for starting social media. AOL predated it by years. Facebook just layered on high school girl peer pressure and used it to make big money and wreck western civilization.

Hey!?

Headline is misleading. It maybe the next step in the new arms race.

He who hold the high ground has the advantage, remember the Star Wars prequels?

It's actually true when it comes to gravity wells. Orbital systems have a great advantage in energy states. OTOH, the top of the hill, or Orbit, is very visible and hard to hide on/in. The Soviets and Chinese, And we, have tested satellite killer missiles and laser systems, so don't expect a "Space Cowboys" orbital missile station. ( NO one expects an Orbital Missile Station! ) Even though there have been plans to make them for decades.

The moon, OTOH, you can dig into. Hide on the other side. And as anyone who has read "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" knows, is a commanding position because of the gravity well.

Fukushima reminds me of the East coast blackout of 1967. One detail. Big NYC hospital had it's emergency generator fire up and work fine. Except they hadn't put the basement sump pumps on the emergency power circuit. The basement flooded and killed the generator.

In Japan the nuclear plant survived the earthquake. It wasn't destroyed by the tsunami. And if the emergency generator had been on the roof and not the basement. ........ it would still be operating today.

I don't know who made the decision to put the generator where it got flooded. An engineer or bean counter made a very expensive mistake. Not the first or last time in history.
