The Long Beach show was... I went with hopes of seeing the new KTM 790 Duke, nope! Was hoping to see the Honda NC750X... nope! Or, the Moto Guzzi Concept V85, but nope! https://www.cycleworld.com/moto-guzzi-concept-v85- brings-enduro-style-to-street They didn't even have a Griso on display! However, there were plenty of BMW GS bikes to see. After being disappointed with the lack of bikes I wanted to see. I set out to buy a new pair of riding pants... great the only leather pants, for sale, in the building didn't have an ass! I did get to sit on the Triumph 765 Street Triple RS. The Ulysses may be going to a new home. I just have to convince myself that I want to do the maintenance on one. | ||

I need to check out the new GoldWing Tour. Heard it won't be in the dealerships until February which means they SHOULD have demo bikes for Daytona Bike Week... | ||

I'm with Froggy on that. I sure would like to check out the Motus' I wonder if they will be there. Been dying to schedule a test ride but never do because I know I can't have one. That and the whole juice clutch thing turns me off. | ||

Can’t commit right now but Sunday could be conceivable. Like everyone says, the Dino is tempting. Maybe skip the IMS and just do the Dino. | ||

Traffic is a bit easier to manage after they have recently completed the work under the elevated portion of the West Side Highway over the Dino. 125th is pretty well done . . . parking is still scarce but it's easier to navigate. | ||

I've only rarely been unable to find a spot to wedge a bike in along the curb in the area. It's usually not so bad on a Sunday. Five years ago I got hitched at the nearby West Harlem Piers, and we had our "reception" at the Dinosaur. Most of us ended up parking by the Cotton Club. | ||

I try to get to the show just as it opens. It's less crowded then. It starts getting packed around lunchtime which is when I leave. | ||

I'm hoping the mild weather continues too, as I'm planning on riding the Zero in for this. If it's too cold, though, the range becomes more limited and I'll more than likely end up riding the C650GT. If it's raining, though, I'll use mass transit and getting up to the Dinosaur from the Javits Center becomes more challenging From my house to the Javits Center, then from there to the Dino and finally back home is roughly 64 miles. If I maintain a steady 70 mph, my total range on a charge in "normal" weather conditions is 81 miles. But traffic once I hit Queens will be nowhere NEAR 70 mph, so the slower speeds will allow me to travel even farther on a charge. (Message edited by jaimec on November 23, 2017) | ||

The Tramp is wide awake, and has been making his wishes known since this thread started. However, I have very little cash to live on, and no matter how I try to juggle finances, the answer comes up that I can't afford to go. If I hadn't had to get the sewer pipe rooted out, I might have been able to make it. Instead, I'll stay home and make out Christmas Cards. I'll be eating really good BBQ with my daughter and Son-in-law on Wednesday, the 6th. But I still have a soft spot for the Dinosaur and hanging out with BadWebbers. That line about the Ice Man was directed towards Jim heading out at 5:00 AM in sub freezing temperatures to make it to the show by 9:00. | ||
