I don't think I've ever been above 120. My speedometer has always had the mfg's 10% error so more like 108 to 110 mph. I was on asphalt with modern radial tires. 136 mph on the beach running 1907 tire technology. My hat is off to the incredible Glenn Curtis. | ||

That's the approximate top speed of an S1 Lightning circa 1996. My DR is geared to top out at 100mph. That's enough. The next planned purchase tops out at roughly ~155...though I'll likely never get there. These days just not getting ran over is proving tougher and tougher in this area. |
