http://www.nationalreview.com/article/453473/middl e-east-threat-remains-beware-iranian-syrian-hezbol lah-attack-israel

I've spent many hours around camp fires with active service persons and a few foreign folk, discussing world affairs. In a historical re-enactors setting. So talk about, say, Egypt often has passing camp members offhand comments on battles from Tours to El Alamein. Some of these folk have multiple trips to the Sandbox and Rockpile. ( I'm buying a tent next year from the fellow that sold my fiance armor she gave me for my birthday. He's a full bird now. Multiple tours of both. )

These are discussions that sometimes stop suddenly and a quick scan of the circle is made to vet outsiders. Sometimes the subject matter changes.

One night there was speculation about Israel In Extremis. I volunteered the Aswan scenario, and had my account of F4 Phantom range verified with a smile. In the event of an Iranian nuke over Jerusalem, expect the Russian port and capitol of Syria to be destroyed. Qom & Tehran. Moscow. The Beqaa valley.

But not Mecca. There's a reason the current leaders in the House of Saud are pro Israel. Deep. Real. Reasons.

Yes, Julie. The House of Saud.

Thank you for the Dopey reference.

Pity Julie is unwilling to engage in actual discussion. I'd love to hear how much her gods took in bribes.

This may explain why George the Younger just abandoned 9 years of intelligent silence and the Legacy of his family. Thank Ghu Jeb was defeated.

I'm beginning to think Donald is quietly setting Congress up. By actually asking them to do their jobs he uncovers the parasites pretending to be statesman.

Keep in mind that National Review is not a home to Trump fans.

[I]t appears that Saudi Arabia [now] has a government, thanks to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s weekend purge of the royal family. It is probably the only political event in recent memory that has the support of Washington, Moscow and Beijing, not to mention Berlin, London, Paris and Tokyo — as well as Jerusalem.

[snip]

President Trump, for that matter, tweeted, “I have great confidence in King Salman and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, they know exactly what they are doing.”

Indeed they do. The foundations for the creation of a functioning Saudi state were laid well before President Trump visited Riyadh last March. The Washington Post reported at the time: “Behind the scenes, the Trump administration and Saudi Arabia have been conducting extensive negotiations, led by White House senior adviser Jared Kushner and Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The discussions began shortly after the presidential election, when Mohammed, known in Washington as ‘MBS,’ sent a delegation to meet with Kushner and other Trump officials at Trump Tower. After years of disillusionment with the 0bama administration, the Saudi leadership was eager to do business. ‘They were willing to make a bet on Trump and on America,’ a senior White House official said.”

The true irony of all that just hit me.

Dems cry "world village", "open borders", "embrace all", "sanctuary cities", "harbor the exiled". And they hate Trump because...well, because he's not Hillary - no more, no less. The rest is just their excuse to be rude.

BUT...who's ACTUALLY working to bring the world together here?

It is probably the only political event in recent memory that has the support of Washington, Moscow and Beijing, not to mention Berlin, London, Paris and Tokyo — as well as Jerusalem.

President Trump tweeted this out today, on the one-year anniversary of his election as President:

The newspaper seen front and center on his desk is the Financial Times.

Pictured on the front page, "above the fold" as they say, is none other than Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Smooth, Mr. President, very smooth.

China's Xi fetes Trump on first day of Beijing trip

BEIJING (Reuters) - With lavish pageantry and an uncharacteristic personal flourish, Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday rolled out a red carpet welcome for U.S President Donald Trump at the Forbidden City, the ancient home of China’s emperors.

[snip]

In another break from precedent, Xi himself gave the Trumps a tour of the imperial treasures of the Forbidden City, a UNESCO World Heritage site cleared of tourists for the day[.]

[snip]

In another rare, if not unprecedented step, Trump’s official ceremonial welcome at the Great Hall of the People on Thursday will be broadcast live on national television, state broadcaster CCTV said.

While the sprawling palace complex in the center of Beijing is a regular stop for visiting dignitaries, it is rare for a Chinese leader to provide a personal escort, confirmation of the “state visit-plus” treatment that China had promised for Trump.

You're welcome.

I have followed Trump closely since the day he announced his candidacy.

He seems to be very well respected by the various heads of state he has met with. They seem to recognize he's not pretending to be smart, or pretending to be a leader.

President Xi is affording our president unprecedented respect during his visit to China, the same mutual respect that President Trump afforded to Xi during his visit to the US earlier this year.

This is amazing stuff.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is hosting a welcoming for U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. For the first time in history this event will be broadcast live on Chinese State TV. Anticipated start time 8:30pm (U.S. Eastern Time)

For additional perspective, the first livestream below is the actual livestream the Chinese People will be permitted to watch:

USA Media Ignores Historic Prime Time Broadcast of Official Beijing Welcome For President Trump

In 1989 the communist regime of China delivered one of the more infamous authoritarian displays of brutality in modern history. The Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, commonly known in mainland China as the June Fourth Incident, were student-led demonstrations in Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China. In response the communist regime crushed the student uprising and hundreds were massacred.

Almost thirty years later, it’s now 2017, and in the exact same place, on the exact same streets, the Chinese government played the U.S. national anthem while broadcasting -for the first time ever- to their own country, the welcoming ceremony of a state visit by a U.S. President and First Lady at the Grand Hall of the People’s Republic of China.

During prime time (8:30pm EST) television viewing you might think this historic moment, this historic contrast, might garner some U.S. media attention. You might think that, but you would be wrong.

Actual trumpets sounded the regalia as President Donald Trump exited the limousine in front of the Great Hall, but not a single U.S. network, broadcast or cable, showed the historic moments of the welcoming ceremony for the arrival of President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

Thirty years ago, it was China controlling the broadcasts and hiding events on that location. In 2017 it’s the U.S. media apparatus hiding. Has the worm turned 180°?

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2017/11/09/us a-media-ignores-historic-prime-time-broadcast-of-o fficial-beijing-welcome-for-president-trump/

I watched the welcoming ceremony live on YouTube last night. It was stunning to see and hear our National Anthem being played - IN COMMUNIST CHINA - and see our President, FLOTUS and US Cabinet members all standing with their hands over their hearts.

Kudos to President Xi of China for his courage in broadcasting this event live to his country, and for this most obvious display of respect to our president and to America.

So, coverage of yesterday's historic events here in America? Radio-frikkin'-silence.

Fake news.

Or, more often than not in the case of President Trump, no news at all.

Bingo.

1. Distortion, misdirection, and outright lies.
2. Omission.

These are the only two rules of the MSM.

Oh, there's a third:

3. Do NOT, under ANY circumstance, say anything positive about President Trump.

This is an interesting essay, related to the above:

quote:

Why The Left Has Been So Wrong About The Trump Boom

Time magazine’s cover story for the week of Nov. 6 is a classic. It blares: “The Wrecking Crew: How Trump’s Cabinet Is Dismantling Government As We Know It.”

The New York Times ran a lead editorial complaining that Team Trump is shrinking the regulatory state at an “unprecedented” pace.

Meanwhile, last week the stock market raced to new all-time highs; we had another blockbuster jobs report with another fall in the unemployment rate; and housing sales soared to their highest level in a decade.

Are the editors at Time and the Times so ideologically blinded that they are incapable of connecting the dots?

The U.S. economic revival of 3 percent growth has already defied the predictions of almost every Donald Trump critic.

I vividly remember debating Hillary Clinton’s economic gurus during the campaign: They accused Trump and advisers such as myself of “lying” when we said that pro-growth policies would speed up economic growth to 3 to 4 percent.

Jason Furman, who chaired the Council of Economic Advisers under President Barack 0bama, told reporters earlier this year that the chances of reaching 3 percent growth over a decade were about 1 in 25—which is what many political experts said was Trump’s chance of winning the election.

Another 0bama economist, Alan Krueger, called the 3 percent growth forecast “extremely rosy.”

Larry Summers, a top economic adviser to 0bama, questioned the “standards of integrity” of the Trump economic team’s forecast for 3 percent (or more) growth. “I do not see how any examination of U.S. history could possibly support the Trump forecast as a reasonable expectation,” he wrote in The Washington Post.

Congress weighed in, too. “This budget relies on absurd economic projections and pretend revenues that no credible economist would validate,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., announced at a House budget hearing.

The sharp-penned Paul Krugman of The New York Times declared Trump’s growth forecast an act of “economic arrogance.” He said the productivity improvement necessary for faster growth was as likely as “driverless flying cars” arriving “en masse.”

Admittedly, we shouldn’t read too much into six months of very good economic data (with 3 percent growth) or the booming stock market. These trends can always reverse course quickly. Trump’s more restrictive policies on trade and immigration could harm growth potential.

But so far the Trump haters have missed the call on the economy’s trajectory. Doubly ironic is that the same 0bama-era economists who are trashing Trump’s increasingly realistic forecast of 3 percent growth are the ones who predicted 4 percent growth from the 0bama budgets.

0bama never came anywhere near 4 percent growth, and at the end of his second term, the economy grew at a pitiful 1.6 percent.

Under 0bama, free enterprise and pro-business policies were thrown out the window. What was delivered was the weakest recovery from a recession since World War II, with a meager 2.2 percent average growth rate. Middle America felt it, which is why Trump won these forgotten Americans.

Do y'all know that we just experienced our SECOND straight quarter of 3% GDP growth? This, in spite of the staggering effect on our economy from dealing with not one, but two major hurricanes.

Why doesn't the MSM talk about this? See rules #1, #2 and #3 above. Especially #3.

The crime of omission, indeed.
