Brad.....the ATC's count if you bought them new and raced them. I forgot I had another 200x a few years ago. It was original in excellent shape. I found it to be inadequate for an old fat guy. There really is a big difference thirty years and 70 pounds later!

I was actually an expert class rider on the three wheelers. I won a lot of enduros and even trials events, wheelie contests, dirt drags, oval track races, hill climbs and I won several bets involving being able to do donuts on pavement.

Yep..... I loved those damned things!

Inadequate.... hmmm.

In order.

73 Suzuki GT380
72 Kawasaki H1 500
77 Suzuki GS750B
82 Suzuki SG1100E
77 Yamaha XS750
01 Buell Cyclone

If you want Hang gliders the list is about as long. Longer, now that I think about it.

The above doesn't count go-cart engines adapted to bicycles, or rocket powered bicycles ( disappointing ).

Feelings of inadequacy are only related to garage space IMO...

Chronologically, because everything must be in an order.

Honda 70 minibike (I think, after looking at what Barber has about a month ago) before I learned incorporating using the clutch to shift gears...

And I thought I had a disease!! Those are some amazing list, I love it! I've owned 5 bikes at once, technically, but the Trident is still on the shelf! Garage space, tags and insurance made me drop a couple. Since one of the two bikes left is a Harley I always need a backup!!

Keep them coming, it's really interesting how some folks like me were brand loyal for a while till something better or more interesting came along.

..another "short lister" here....

1.Taco 22 mini bike with a jack shaft conversion
2.1969 Kawasaki 120 C2TR modified to strictly dirt
3. 1968 Husky 250
4. 1978 Yamaha SR 500 cafe'd
5. 1978 Dick Mann TT500-heavily modified
6. 1985 Kawasaki 600 Ninja-modified
7. 1987 Kawasaki 750 Ninja-modified
8. 2001 Yamaha WR 426 F-modified
9. 2000 Buell X-1 Lightning-modified

Really miss the Husky 250 the most(regret selling it).The two 500 Yamaha's were more fun than i can write about...seriously.The 750 Ninja was my REAL eye opener to some serious hp and torque...The last two i still have ,but soon the 426 will be going bye bye.Just don't have the time nor the energy to keep it.Besides it sits most of the time and when it does....what a festered red headed wicked step child of a bike to kick over....pizza leg syndrome...so i'll get it runnin' and throw a "for sale" on it. I've ridden many other bikes, but not owned...miss the most are the "old school" ones.Well, that about wraps it up for now....unless my "chemo' brain forgot anymore tidbits....LT

Talk about a trip in the"way back"machine.
1978 XR 75 Honda.Lied when I was 11 and told them I was 12 so I could get a paper rought to earn the money to buy it.Raced a couple of hair scrambles on it.
1972 CB750Four.Classic 70's chopper.My only vehicle for a year and a half.Moved to Florida when 18 with everything I could carry and $650.00.
1984 GPZ1100 Kawasaki.Probably the most brutaly fast and unpredictable bike I've owned.Much frame flex and the front would come loose without warning.Crashed it twice.
1972 750GT Suzuki Water Buffalo.Barn find.First two stroke and first water cooled bike I owned.
80 something CX650 Honda.Bought it for my ex and fixed it up.She rode it one time so I rode it for a while and sold it.
1982 CB250 Honda.Gave it to my Son and I think he still has it.
Some kind of Chinese piece of junk 125.Gave it to my son and it fell apart.
125 Yamaha set up for flat track.Bought it from the nice Lady that works on my leathers and gave it to my other son.He never rally liked to ride and sold it way too cheaply.
2004 Ducati Multistrada.Got it WAY cheap brand new from a shop in Tulsa that was closing down the next day.Wheelie king but the mirror stem broke twice from setting it back down.Sold it to a guy in TX that showed up in dress slacks and shoes.Gave him a helmet, jacket and gloves to make the three hour trip back home.
2009 1125R Buell.Bought it during the fire sale in Shreeveport in the pouring rain(as well as the Duc)Many mods and several track days including Daytona and VIR full course.
1947 45WL HD.It took me 5 years to get my hands on this bike.It had been sitting in this guys living room for 15 years and is currently being brought back to life.
200 X1Lightning Buell. My friend decided to down size and just gave it to me!!Nice bike but I am currently on the road and I haven't had time to mess with it yet.
Coleman ridged frame mini bike from Wall Mart.Bought it for a pit bike at Barber but broke my hand the night before and didn't get to ride.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to say a little bit about each bike.If I wrote it all it would be a book: )

I'm going to start by memory and just include the bikes I actually owned . . . not bikes sent by HD and Buell.

Vespa Scooter - circa 1965 - confined to the yard with an occasional dash up the street when folks were not home.

1952 Cushman 711 Highlander - quite rare with the 2 seats. Still here in the garage and is in "showroom" new condition.

1987-1/2 Harley-Davidson 883 Hugger - part of the "buy it for $3,995 . . trade up in a year and get your money back program.

I traded up.

1983 - Harley-Davidson XR-1000 - Still have the original bill of sale to a fabled racer. Dealer wrote that the bike was not to be operated outside "normal limits" or as a "race bike" or the warranty would be voided. Where the X with the ______ was . . for the racer to sign . . . were the words "F*** You" in large letters.

1990 - KTM 250 Moto-X

1993 - Honda XR650
1977 XLCR Café Racer - One of the better bikes I've ever owned. Won many "slow races" on this bike.

1888 - FLHTC - The one I wish I had back. Rode to 85th with Willie G and Rich Teerlink.

1990 - 883 Sportster - Bought and took straight to machine shop to be built into a 883 CCS road racer.

1990 - 883 Sportster - Bought and turned into a $25,000 custom . . . did every single part on the engine and frame. Paint was off the charts . . . Erik Buell rode it the first time he was at the house in Topeka and called the bike "dangerous". It was.

1995 - Buell S2 - White - first Buell to see most of the 44 states it's been ridden in. Did 37 states on a single "BUELL - Lap of America" ride in July 1995,

1995 - Buell S2 - gift from Scott Miller at Buell Distribution.

1996 - Buell S1 Lightning - "Barney"

1998 - Buell S3 Thunderbolt

2008 - Buell XB12XT Ulysses 25th Buell Anniversary - Birthday gift from friends. One of the funniest stories . . . about it being delivered. I was lured from the house under the guise of taking a 7 year old to get a haircut. . . .we were driving down the street and I see a new Ulysses on a trailer going the other way. I . . . yielding to the urge to "help" a Buell owner with an obviously non-running Uly . . do a u-turn and give chase. Pickup driver eludes me and I go ahead and take 7 year old to barber shop. Get home to find the bike sitting in the drive, with ribbons and bows all over it . . . and the delivering dealer laughing about having to evade and escape capture.

That's it . . . I've made the leap to trucks and vintage sports cars with the Ulysses getting rolled out a couple times a year.

Court, you mentioned the 85th B-day of HD. I was there on a BMW K100RS. We had stopped at the city limits to check our maps and when we left the side of the road my drive shaft sheared the splines at the diff. We had it towed to the dealer and chained it to the front porch. 17 days left on the 3 year warranty! Whew!! After touring the Harley factory I was impressed enough to buy my first HD, an 89 Heritage Softtail Classic. Beautiful machine but vibrated terribly. 2 years and 22,000 miles later I sold it. Maybe you saw me up there, I was the guy in the black T-shirt!
