Saturday 11/4/17, meet at Perkins Tower (or the gate if it's closed) at Bear Mtn. NY, around 9AM. Kickstands up at 9:30 followed by lunch sometime in the afternoon at the Roundup Texas BBQ in Cold Springs NY. This ride is for those that had a conflict last Sunday, or wimped out (he says sheepishly).

Saturday looks like the best weekend day, so to honor that we're going to call this the "Hammer Ride". Traditionally that was a pre-ride for the HHR, but in this case it's a post ride, so sue me. Don't forget to fill your tank before you get to the tower. Just to be sure I think we'll stay on the conservative side between gas stops, say less than 80 miles. Hope to see everyone there.

That was easy to find.

I’m going to try to make it, but it will be very iffy. Do you have a route in mind?

Best to dub this "reloaded". The hammer ride was an animal all it's own. But really glad someone else has stepped up to organize another ride. It's not so easy, been tempted to create my own ride for years. Whenever I do, I'll be sure there are shirts (seems to be a major concern) but only for those attending. Good luck and have fun!

Oh Boy, I can't wait to get a "DOZ" shirt!

The use of Hammer was just to honor the man that started the Saturday ride, no bad intent.

As far as a route, it's a rough idea with some spots I'd like to hit although one may be too far from the BBQ. Other that that, at the moment, it's a connect the dots. Keeping the GPS as a backup just in case.

If I am able to attend would you be opposed to a 70ish mile route that follows last years route?

Those were some purdy areas, wouldn't be a bad ride. Just keep an eye out for those damn sheriffs.

My appetite is like gravity. Just got home with the 2010 Triumph "Bonneville" I'm borrowing for tomorrow. Myself +1 will be at Perkins or the gate before 0930.

Yeah, I need to spare enough time to get gas plus I really need my morning coffee. I think I'll drop down 684 and slide into Peekskill from the east. There's a few spots along that route that serve both.

I'm about 1 1/2 hours away and will be leaving my spot with a friend at 0730 and top off somewhere near Bear Mountain. With stands up at 0930 that will give me plenty of my cherished stand around smoking & drinking Mtn Dew time.

The farm . . . at the undisclosed location . . . will be open with tons of coffee, tools, and restrooms if anyone needs a stop over coming or going . . .

Just wander till you hear the music . . .

Ride safe and have fun. I'm working on an MG today and planning on spending a good part of the night, under the full moon, bouncing from music to music.

Good part is when your neighbor is a Woodstock veteran with a studio in the back yard . . . there is ALWAYS music.

Ride safe and have fun . . .

Oh yeah, it happened. What a big difference from last week. Four of us made it to the gate, the tower drive was closed so we had to wait at the street. We almost had a fifth rider join us, he just wanted to go to the tower and couldn’t, but he declined when we were ready to leave. Took a wrong turn on the east side of the river and ended up on a much nicer road than expected. Add in some sunshine and some BBQ and it turned out to be a great day.
