Just a heads up to all the XB12 owners out there. I just confirm with with HD that the S1138.1AA Exhaust Valve Actuator has been discontinued and they don't have any more in stock and will not be getting any more. This part was on back order for the last 60 days and it sounds like the manufacture didn't want to make it anymore. I check with HD site and it doesn't show any dealers having them in stock. Don't shoot the messenger. |

If you like your stock exhaust, here's another solution: http://www.buellxb.com/forum/showthread.php?52942- Disabled-exhaust-valve-actuator&p=587824&viewfull= 1#post587824 Adapt a nearly-identical actuator used to work the intake manifold butterflies on some auto engine. The good news is the auto part only costs $60! |

Oh man! I was just about to start a thread on this. I saw that my dead servo looked reeeely a lot like the servos I have in my Dodge heater ducts. I do not have $185 to spend on a thing that makes the bike barely run differently. |

I do not have $185 to spend on a thing that makes the bike barely run differently. According to Ross Daigle, “removing the actuator and tying the valve open will literally drop 15 ft-lbs at 4000 RPM. I've done it on the dyno.” |

Your better off just leaving it closed. I rode mine with the cover off so I could see when it opened. If I was flogging it at WOT it would open occasionally otherwise it didn't move. |

I was able to buy a used actuator when mine failed. The old one had an integral cable anchor, so I bent up an aluminum one for the replacement.

Total, at WOT, it opens at ~1500, closes at 3100, and opens again at 5100. Actual operation starts earlier than that to account for the time it takes to open and close the valve. |

What's the Britbike in the background? It looks kinda familiar. |
