Yes but I bet if you ask him...he doesn't consider it "work". And that's the best part about being able to do what you truly love for a living! At the educational level, 99% of the students are in the "I have to do this" stage...not "I LOVE doing this". Now, should the educational system help students better identify WHAT they love to do? That's a whole 'nother debate, right there...and it has "education" on one side of the fence, and "regurgitate" on the other. Program...or teach to think. We all know which way our system has turned lately... | ||

Teaching some people to think was the greatest challenge I faced as a trainer. It was also the most rewarding part of the job. I had to learn what the student wanted, remember what the company wanted, and try to show the student how to frame both desires by their actions and pro- activity into a simple synergy. When asked why I did so much, I explained that it was fun to tell my bosses. "You can't tell me what to do". If you have done everything to include being proactive enough to head off future work, there is nothing for the boss to tell you. My goal the last years prior to retirement was to do my job in such a way without working overtime that it would require more than one person to replace me. Eight years of that crap and it's no wonder that many people just aren't going with the flow. I was all for a Women President. Just Not Hillary. Because I preferred Carly, I was sexist. Then Hillary called most of America Deplorable, because we were not her fans. And by golly If I mentioned I'd prefer Condolezza Rice, I was racist, and sexist. And now because I condemn Socialists, I'm a Nazi. I lack the words to describe my disgust with these people. | ||
