Indian released another Scout model yesterday, the Bobber. I think it actually looks better than the regular version. On the plus side, it has more abbreviated fenders, ADV-ish tires, less chrome, less-forward placed controls (but still not close to mids or rear-sets) and a slightly taller seat (relative to the frame). OTOH, they lowered it so it has only 2 inches (!) of rear suspension travel.

This video is pretty cool. They actually show a rider being hooligan-ish on the street:

This seems like a step in the right direction. Maybe they'll get around to doing a standard or flat-tracker version eventually.

meh.

They certainly have adopted the cruiser manufacturer mentality of "make 3 models into 20" mantra.

Only so much they can do, in my opinion, until they give it dual disc front brakes, more suspension travel, and mid-controls.

The Scout isn't even in the same ballpark as an 1190SX. I'm seriously trying to figure out how to buy an SX to ride to the Beaufort Sea. I wouldn't want to ride a Scout out of town. I'll take my Roadster any day over a Scout. I can do an 800 mile day on the Roadster. I think a 300 mile day on a Scout would be an exercise in enduring torture.

I took a Scout out for a demo ride in September of 2014, just after Polaris debuted it at Sturgis. A week or so later I took an 1190 SX out for a demo ride. That's when I formed my opinion.

Looks like Polaris found a home for some left over Victory exhaust pipes.

What . . let me get this right . . . did someone actually see these two bikes as competing against each other?

Next we'll be seeing the headline . . . . "Kia cuts into sales of Porsche 911"

The internet never ceases to amaze me.

^ I hope nobody said that; I certainly didn't mean to imply that one's any competition for the other.

Even their model can't look at it. lol

I'd have preferred they slap the indian name on that electric machine they canned with Victory. Maybe that would have finally put the spurs to HD on the livewire.

A buddy is bob-ing, his Star big twin. ( I forget the model ) He says he doesn't need the touring bike stuff, and has his own vision. Also a large pile of chrome crap he's removed.

I'll also have to get some shots of his XS1100. A masonic & skull themed bike, I'm sure Alfau would declare it a satanic abomination in the eyes of Stalin. ( and somehow think that's a bad thing? )

He's bought the XS1100 for himself to get back into riding, after a layoff, and a Maxim 650 for his wife to learn on. ( she's doing nicely )

In keeping with the Powerpuff Girls naming theme of my Cyclone, who I named Buttercup ( the toughest fighter ) his is Blossom ( commander and the leader ) and hers is Bubbles. ( she has the joy and the laughter )

I have no clue what he's going to name the Star. I think he has to ride it so it can tell him. ( Mock anthropomorphizing a motorcycle or car all you want. It's what humans do )
