This is my rig, (hijacked picture from the interwebs) it is nothing special and is good enough for the property that I own. Just waiting for it to completely die so I can upgrade but the thing keeps going. She starts every time the battery has juice in it that's for sure. : )

An idea I've been wanting to try (meaning I'm trying to talk my wife into) is just buying a goat, tying it to a anchor screw and moving the goat daily. No need for a lawn mower and we get a pet in the process. win-win I say...........

Hey Hoot, here is my little pond. I love these lotus, it just sucks that they are only around for a few weeks a year.

That's my lawn! Without the pretty flowers or borders. In fact it's a swamp.

With my John Deere 430 parked on blocks.... a tiny island of fire wood pushed underneath after I jacked it up yesterday out of the bog where I got stuck mowing the maze Sunday.

A few hours wet & muddy work later and six feet of horizontal movement it was decided that it's no longer stuck in the mud. It's trapped until the swamp dries out. But not stuck anymore. Not in a hole. Not buried to the axles. Just parked until........

I'm out of town for a few days. The rest of the lawn is lush, thick, and too wet to mow. We'll see. It's up to the weather.

Neat Jim! I may get one or two next year (you can apparently only buy them in February). My understanding is that in South Texas, they do OK most of the year. They need three months of HOT weather to really take off.

The house we purchased in North Carolina came with a vintage Wheelhorse (1978). The darn thing tried to kill me twice, so I gave it away.
Now I use a self-propelled walk behind 22 inch MTD mower. I do not try to mow the steepest part of my "yard". I am thinking I'll rent a brush mower a couple times a year...

My dad's old Gravely, with the snow blower attachment. One of these days I'll have to get it going again.

A Gravely will make a man out of ya!
One taught me everything I needed to know about
"Letting the machine do the work, and quit fighting it"
They're awesome machines.

Here I am, digging a hole with the Kubota

Wife has a friend who's moving and wanted to get rid of a snapper rider. So , we drug this thing home. Briggs model number starts with a 1980 number. Drive disk gone, parts ordered so torture starts after repairs. Motor starts n runs great tho.

Nice Snapper!
It'll last forever.
Different pulleys will make it faster, like a racing mower.

Super Dave at the controls!

When they take away your motorcycles and your trucks,
you do what I've always said,
You do what you can with what you've got.
Speed is relative, and I'm sure thankful for that!

Went back next day and got the son to the rider. Named the rider , crash and the self propelled, squirt.
Yall know, the finding Nemo turtles.
Had to empty fuel tank and float bowl on small one. That gas had no explosive tendencies at all. Have 87 non ethanol available and have had a lot better luck with lawn equipment since. Motor number on that shows a 7 year age.
