Pretty soon the Right will stop being polite...and start fighting back. Then things will get ugly. Even TV shows are being victimized. "Last Man Standing", where Tim Allen plays (is in real life?) an extremely conservative father/businessman, has been cancelled by the network, despite having the second-highest ratings for their entire lineup (8.1M viewers, 8pm Friday timeslot). Shame, too...it's a hilarious show, and the Right-slant only makes it more fun for me to watch. | ||

I find it bothersome that cloth face masks with graphics are prominently on sale on the Drudge report and other "conservative" news sites. Skulls, clown death grins, flags, pro-police symbols, camo, etc. Some body is exploiting the mood. | ||

Normally, sure, I look at pocket drones, and I get ads for them. This was a sponsor of multiple "conservative" sites before I foolishly looked at the web site to see expensive sewn tubes of printed fabric. I wonder, if the same company sells Che, Hammer & Sickle, and Putin on a Bear masks to lefties who have different cookies? It would seem a wise marketing ploy. | ||

I think I have a slightly better understanding of why the South tried to escape the tyranny of the North than most kids today, but despite using the term The War Of Northern Aggression, I really don't have any sympathy for the slave owning Democrat Party splitting our nation before Lincoln was even Inaugurated. What began as a monopolistic crushing of competition by the rich Northern industrialists, ended being about one of the only good reasons to fight a war. Slavery. Yet, despite my antipathy to the Party of Slavery, The Klan, and Alinsky, I think the current trend to take down Confederate monuments is Bad. It's a Stalinist erasure of history. A massive cover up of sins, past & present. A dog pulling your sheets over his vomit. You don't tear down the monuments of the past. You inform people by being truthful about them. You point at the Great Wall of China and explain the weakness that it represents. The lack of military and political togetherness that could not withstand the barbarians sweeping down upon civilization each season, and how isolationism, and cowardice, led to the building of a structure visible from orbit, and the centuries long horror that was bureaucracy run wild as China turned it's back on the world. You point at the Pyramids of Egypt and explain the God King Myth and it's crushing of human freedom for thousands of years. Likewise, a statue of Robert E Lee is a great chance to explain the forces of history, the folk who believed that slavery was desirable, ( and still do to this day, but they will lie about that ) and how the international interference in the Civil War changed history in unexpected ways. ( Egyptian cotton ) But to erase the past is to give yourself permission to repeat it. The folk behind this may have cause for outrage at the actions of the Democrats running the Confederacy, and even anger at the Northern Industrialists that fed the fires by keeping the South agricultural. ( thus maintaining the economic push to slave labor far beyond it's time ) However I don't for a second believe outrage at the injustices of the past have ANYTHING to do with the "tear down the evidence of Democrat Party Evil" movement. | ||

From Fox news Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) were leaving the practice when a man asked them whether Republican or Democrat members of Congress were on the field. The shooting began and reportedly lasted about 10 minutes. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) tweeted “shooter attacked a GOP baseball practice. Rifle. 50+ shots fired. 5 hit including Steve Scalise. I am not shot.” He estimated 50 to 100 shots were fired. One of the 5 hit is also the shooter, who fortunately had poor aim. The Alexandria Police Department tweeted that the “suspect is in custody” and “not a threat.” | ||

Interesting . . . . . "had the Capitol Police not been there . . there would have been many more fatalities". The left out . . the part about "well trained and armed". If the Capitol Police had just "been there" they would have just been spectators and possibly more victims. Just my opinion . . . eager to hear differing views. As long as firearm laws allow bad folks to essentially be assured (as in the case in the majority of shootings) that none of the folks in their area are armed . . . it's a free fire zone. | ||
