How will the factory liquidation, beginning June 7th, affect the homecoming plans? Specifically the auction held at the factory on June 8th....seems like it would either hurt, or be a great time to all gather and show our support. | ||

How will the factory liquidation, beginning June 7th, affect the homecoming plans? It depends on what you think Home Coming is. My bike returns to where it was made. I get to spend time with other Buell enthusiasts. The locals are friendly. It's an excuse to go camping. Erik may not be available. Everything printed in green on the AGENDA POST is still a go. | ||

That's good to hear. My idea of homecoming is, and has been for the last 10 years, very similar. Not looking to be patronized, simply wondering if plans in place were affected by the recent news. | ||

I'm with Ourdee. The passion continues even if the factory isn't involved. We spend a couple of (fun) hours at the factory, but I go to enjoy the company of the other enthusiasts that show. | ||

I have lots of things I should be doing that week of HC, but I've only been to one. This could be the last time I get to walk into the factory look around, and appreciate the vision and passion of the people who work/ed there. I might have to just forget all my other commitments and go anyway. Last year I met some of the finest people. People who understand the passion of riding just for the sake of the ride. People look at my choice of bike not as a compromise because I couldn't afford or handle a full dresser, but what it really is. What my bike is to me, is a bike that feels connected directly not just to the road, but also my to my soul. | ||

I was a co-op student (12 weeks on, 12 weeks off) at Buell Motor Co., Inc. - and then, later, Buell Motorcycle Company... I thought to myself today, HEY, I should figure out what I am packing on the bike for HC. Really trying to figure out the bed for this year, little tent/big tent? I do need to start packing lighter. I need to see if my side cases will fit in the solo tent with me. Matt, can I hide in the trailer if it storms all day? | ||

AGENDA POST: Wednesday June 7th: Gus's Drive-In becomes a day long meet and greet with Buellers filling their bellies and catching up with old friends and meeting new. Thursday June 8th: Factory Parking Lot Gathering has an unofficial green light. In years past Erik has been sighted on the asphalt. Never know who may show up on a Thursday morning. Liquid Sale all day. Evening dinner at Roma's followed with a 15 minute ride to: ..... wait for it.... GARAGE NIGHT @ Christo's W330 S8159 Country Lane Mukwonago, WI 53149 Friday June 9th: Two Seasons and Doris' BREAKFAST EXTRAVAGANZA! Steve and Doris open their garage and kitchen for one of the best home cooked breakfast experiences you can have in Wisconsin. Fine dining in lawn chairs scattered among Buells and Buellers in the garage. Never a dull moment and often the launching point for rides led by local talent. Saturday June 10th: Racing will bracket this HC2017 on both weekends; FYI: AHRMA racing will be at Gingerman Raceway the weekend of June 3-4 and Road America June 10-11. Pat Mooney races his EBRs in ARHMA, so if you want to cheer on the home team... MotoAmerica is at Road America June 2-4. Smoke's team (Max Flinders) races in the Superstock 1000 class in MotoAmerica, and has also raced an RX in AHRMA This thread will be active during HC2017. Scrambling to load things up. Departing Thursday morning for Road America. I'll be in East Troy on Monday the 5th. I'm sure I'll be forgetting something, and bringing too much! FYI: I called the Quality Inn and they will reduce the rate to $79.99 if you mention that you're with EBR Homecoming block. Zack: I took a shot and mentioned to them that you were booked there, too and they modified your rate as well. Hopefully the $79.99 rate is less than the rate you had!! | ||

Nice Dennis, thanks. I had an AARP discount or something, that sounds right tho... And I have a hometown Bueller from Denver splitting the room. Was charging up my Li-ion jumpstart battery today and it decided to heat up and grow. I left it outside on some rocks... Hope to be there Tuesday with a handful of Benjamins for the sale Wednesday. I need a couple of 1190 motors. and an RX wiring harness. and anything cool......... |
