I'm not in the area anymore, but still get emails from MCC in Villa Park, IL. If you are local and want to get in on the demo rides, here's the scoop from the email...
I think it's pretty cool that MCC picked up Motus. They got burned pretty bad on the EBR fiasco, but have a strong desire for an American brand to match their Euro brands. Great dealer to do business with. | ||

I thought so too. The pictures I have seen do not do the bike justice. You have to see it in person. As I was pulling my Firebolt around to get a side by side shot, the guy took off. Not as loud as I expected with those pipes. I think my bike with the Jardine was much louder. I really wanted to see the side by side comparison with my Firebolt. | ||

For years I've heard the promises, commitments and see the dates and numbers slip. Part of my concern is from meeting with the founders and being told "we don't know what they are going to cost". Odd way, under any circumstances, to design a consumer product. I have, from 6 years ago . . all my Motus swag, the hats, club membership cards and goodies . . . and just now are we starting to see product. But . . . as I bounce around a couple of those dealer websites I was finding myself in the vaporware circle. The Motus website would take me to a dealer . . . click on the dealers website and, rather than inventory, it took me back to the Motus site. It looks like something is happening . . . I can find some ads for product but they all appear to be in the $40,000 range. I'm making some assumptions about margins and sales velocity but the business model seems difficult to make work. I remain a skeptic . .. but, as I say, I'm perfectly willing to be proven wrong. | ||

"That looks awesome" Ummm- no, it doesn't. Did he just forget to paint/decal the entire right side of the bike?! The valve covers and swingarm MIGHT match, but those wheels are hideous. I've NO idea about that taillight. "Aliens" anyone? Took a mechanical work of art, colored it like a 3rd grader. Paint seems to be of quality, despite nothing matching. There's no accounting for taste... hope it rides and handles nicely though. | ||

Brian's a really cool guy. He was at March Badness IV He had a bike he made from a XB12.  A bit of an abomination really, but, different strokes... Ann and I rode with him, the thing handled a lot better than I'd thought. | ||

Cool looking engine. They would look great in a Polaris Slingshot. Better exhaust sound than the i4 they come with. Though in a video i saw the other day the bike had a lot of valve noise. | ||

Just went to my local dealers website.. $31,000 for the MST $37,000 for the MSTr (ya get 15 more hp & 3 more ft lbs of tq. I'm sure there is more..) A little to much for my wallet... I'll stick with the S3T for now. But a test ride might be in order. | ||

Yeah, buddy, I'm witcha. See if you can find the CW issue, it's really a good article. Sometimes a weird, assymetrical paint scheme works- again, I'd love to see it in person. Sure wish I could hit the lottery and grab one of those things! | ||

Mark, I hope you won't be to upset if I don't accept your offer. I can't say I be at the WV Rally this year, I would love to, be it'll depend on work. I'll be getting back mid week from another trip that's already planned. Roy, that's just weird. Steve, be careful what you offer, I just may take you up on it. if you'll just let me sleep next to yours while its idling If there is anything "bad" I can say about Motus the dry clutch is noisy. Having said that I've seen Paul's bike in person and it looks every bit the 40k. Pictures don't do it justice. |
