I'm leaving Ellijay in a few minutes. The breweries open at 1:00 in Blue Ridge. There are two I haven't been to yet so I have a mission! After lunch and a few samples I'll take a ride down Aska road to Dow and then onto 60 to TWoS. Frank used to call this his short cut to Blue Ridge! | ||

Hey folks, I've got a proposition for everyone: As I've stated earlier, I cannot make it for my original reservation in room #3 of the lodge. Graham cannot make this weekend at all. I'll be there Saturday, but here's the deal- for anyone who has already reserved a cabin or still needs a place to stay, lodge room 3 is open for 3 beds Friday, one on Saturday. Pretty sure Vern will make it... I've spoken with Mary, she's being very accommodating given the circumstances, she's suggested that we can kind of "consolidate" our reservations this way. Again, both Vern and I snore like Sasquatch twins, so bring earplugs. (I may have some myself.) Just throwing this idea out there- by the end of the day today or earlier, I'll need to call Mary to wrap things up. Gotta go run errands now, I'll check the thread later this afternoon. | ||

I'm just finishing packing up my tank and tail bags.... should be heading up in about 30-45 minutes. Probably stop off at TWoS and then head over to Jim's Smokin' Que for a sammich or whatever. I could eat there twice a day. See y'all soon. | ||

You guys post up how things are going, I'll check in after I get back from my friend's memorial service... I'll be bringing provisions, should have plenty of room to carry anything else needed... just let me know! SO ready to be done with this day and week, I can't tell ya. BTW, Charlie and Aiden should be staying in room #3 tonite... you guys have fun! Tomorrow night will definitely involve a campfire- I could use a good meditative session in front of one... Here's the crème de la weird/spooky of the day... I spoke with Charlie this morning. In the course of conversation, I said "Charlie, you know, we've known each other for years, but I don't know yours and Aiden's last name." He replied, "Maike". I got chills. Then I said, "Your last name is phonetically identical to what we called my good buddy who passed this week- Mikey." Mysterious ways, indeed. | ||

Dangit Dave! Oh well, life happens... and other stuff.  We'll miss you and Annie, do have a good weekend regardless. Just got back in from the service, we're just mentally and spiritually drained. My buddy had worked for the same company for over 35 years, we almost ran out of pages for the guest book... I'm gonna beer myself, eat something good, watch some boob tube, sleep well, get up early, pack the basics, check tire pressure, and ROLL. Hope you folks already there are having a ball! I'll cya soon. Oh, BTW, I've not seen the ETA for anyone/group at Jim's... I've kinda figured out my route, but it'd be cool to try and meet up with youn's for some 'cue. If I miss Jim's, there WILL be Chicago dogs over a campfire, with fixin's. | ||

I'll be heading out for Cincinnati in a few minutes. It sure was what I needed. It sure is hard to leave. Especially with all these really great people here. It's so nice to hang out with Buell people. Especially when I'm in a T shirt and I'm perfectly comfortable. However, it's about that time. |
