When you combine a fully filled and clogged septic system (cistern) with a need to clear it, some dynamite and a fool who "KNOWS" how to git 'er done" - hilarity ensues.

Grab a cuppa, find a comfy place to sit, get ready to laugh.

NQSFW (Not Quite Safe For Work) Liberal use of the "S" word.

That is not only frickin' hilarious . . . but eerily similar to one of the 6 or 7 dynamite stories I have.

I told one of my young construction charges the other day . . . . "you guys missed the wonderful days when we used dynamite for everything".

I have fond memories that, looking back, should probably scare the heck out of me.

As a 14 year old kid, with a restricted drivers license ( to school and work only) one of my jobs was driving a 1964 C-10 Chevrolet pickup to the DuPost factory in Greenwood, Missouri.

They'd load up the bed with 80% High Drive dynamite and the cab full of boxes of blasting caps and off I'd head for Grantville, KS. Thought nothing about stopping in a cheap motel, leaving the pickup at the door, spending the night and leaving early in the morning . . times were, indeed, different.

I have wonderful, albeit on the verge of scary, memories of the wonderful things we did with dynamite. That video had me laughing and brought back a lot of memories.

Steve, That is hilarious! I love those old stories.
Court, the time have changed indeed. Had a number of friends that lived on farms when I was a kid. I remember hanging around with them when their Dad or Grandpa's would use dynamite to get rid of stumps. It was a hoot to watch them fly in the air...

That was funny fer sher!

My favorite uncle was a tractor trailer driver hauling dynamite in the fifties and early sixties building Eisenhower's Interstate highway system. He hauled 40' trailer loads to the blasting sights in West Virginia's steep mountain passes as they blasted the mountains away.

Late 1950's trucks were not so good on power, had manual steering, no air conditioning, and especially not so good on brakes. He said he frequently got on switch back cut roads in the mountain faces to get to the top. He said they would often help push his rig with a dozer going up, then hook cables to another dozer to slide the back of the trailer around the switch backs.

I was just a kid then, but I recall my dad asking if he was scared during any of these trips he made, my uncle's response was "hell yeah I was scared.....what do you think.....that I'm stupid?!".

All of these years later I still do not know how to decipher that last statement.
