There used to be a falcon cam set up on the old Kodak office building aimed at a Peregrine falcon nest high up in the art deco tower. Fun to watch the fledglings.

I saw one stoop on a pigeon downtown Rochester next to the old Sibleys building. ( another old fancy detail facade ) Hit the pigeon mid air, braked, then climbed up to a ledge for lunch.

The shower of feathers and blood down on the lunch crowd on the sidewalk was a sight to behold. So were the screaming, panic running pedestrians.

While mountain biking we flushed a Golden Eagle with at least a six foot span. ( size based on experience & spacing between trees ) Local Herons are like dinosaurs, large & a bit spooky to watch fly close up.

In Nebraska we had Sandhill Cranes. There's a web cam for those in season.

Other than Brown bear & Moose & Bison, the American mega fauna like Giraffe are extinct. ( did I miss any? Oh! Yeah, alligators )

Why are there no mammoth? They're delicious.
