Figured it couldn't hurt to ask... Working on a property I own, and it needs a complete re-wire. Not hateful, 2 bedrooms, one bath, one eat-in kitchen, one living room, one sunroom - full, unfinished, walk-up attic for easy pulls and drops. Had an electrician take care of the heavy-up to a current panel (Square-D 200A) and now it's time to pull new wire to everything. As a property owner in MD, I can pull my own permit for stuff like this after I take a test. Kinda scary considering some of the folks who own property around here...but I used to do installs for low voltage control, high voltage, dimming, motors, etc. I just never got licensed because I worked under a Master. Before I drop money on buying a copy of the book though, I figured I'd ask the community here if anyone had a copy I could borrow for a bit? I want to not only pass the tests, but also have it on-site so I hit all the spacing rules and stuff. If I have to cut holes in walls to add outlets near doors...I would prefer to do it as few times as possible |

My NFPA is an older edition. I may have a spare Ugly's around . . .if I find it, I'll send it. |

I've been told it has been updated to 2017, not sure if that matters to you. |

Local code still requires 2014. |

I have a copy of the 2014 NEC. It is the "handbook" version. It is the same as the code book but with pictures and explanations of the code articles. It is actually very useful. I would be willing to let you borrow it if you pay for shipping. Be careful though, when I took my masters test here in Wisconsin they did not allow me to use the handbook for the test. |

Appreciate the offer - I actually got a .pdf version from a board member here, all 984 pages. At least it's searchable. Not going for a Master's test or anything, just pulling a homeowners permit so I can pull wire and re-do outlets and fixtures. Not sure how much of a "test" they have for that here...but nice to be prepared as far as spacing and gauge and minimum circuits and required locations and all that stuff... If it was the house I live in...I'd be done already. Permit? Bah. My house, my liability. But...this is a rental and I want it all by the book for liability reasons. |
