It ain't personal, It's business.

I had a great friend I worked for. He was like that. If he set up breakfast with you tomorrow and fired you today, he still expected to meet the next morning for breakfast. Could really strike you as odd. But that had got him to where he was. And taught me a strange respect for some people.

I wouldn't take it personal. It is the running of the greatest nation on earth and should be that far above board. If you worked for me and offered your resignation, I would accept it. I would not deny you doing what you thought was right.

I can see it. It's a trust issue. You NEED people who you can trust to not BS you, even when they screw up. You have to deal with the screw up either way, but it's always easier when you are getting the facts straight on the first run through. I would guess that most people fail to really understand this sort of philosophy.

P45 is having a press conference right now (CSPAN)...and he's tearing the press a new one. Every third sentence is some variation of "the press is full of shit".

I REALLY like the transparency. It's about time a President (I had typed "politician", but that's not right in this case) simply called it like it is.

FB,

But why did Trump accept Flynn's resignation?

I don't know. We only "know" what we've been told.

P45 plays three-dimensional chess. One of the positive byproducts in all of this is that he forced the media to publicly acknowledge the existence of a "deep state."

This will come as real news to many Americans.

WikiLeaks Drops Bombshell Report Exposing CIA Involvement In 2012 French Election
By Sundance, 02/16/2017

Today WikiLeaks dropped a bombshell exposing President 0bama and Hillary Clinton using the CIA to manipulate the outcome of the 2012 election in France (full pdf below).

According to documents released today by WikiLeaks the CIA ordered covert targeted activity in the 2012 French presidential election, which included French Politicians Francois Hollande, Nicolas Sarkozy & Marine Le Pen.

quote:

WIKILEAKS – All major French political parties were targeted for infiltration by the CIA’s human (“HUMINT”) and electronic (“SIGINT”) spies in the seven months leading up to France’s 2012 presidential election. The revelations are contained within three CIA tasking orders published today by WikiLeaks as context for its forth coming CIA Vault 7 series.

Named specifically as targets are the French Socialist Party (PS), the National Front (FN) and Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) together with current President Francois Hollande, then President Nicolas Sarkozy, current round one presidential front runner Marine Le Pen, and former presidential candidates Martine Aubry and Dominique Strauss-Khan.

One of my favorite parts was the press asking repeatedly "will you tell us what's coming with the EO next week that you say is a big deal" and "how will you deal with the Russian ship and flyovers".

"I'm not gonna tell you THAT!" (paraphrasing here) I'm not going to announce "we'll attack Mosul in four weeks...we'll attack in three weeks...we'll be attacking next week...why would we give that sort of intelligence away??"

Well, will you tell us about your Intelligence activity and what they're doing to try and find the leaks?

NO.

President Trump Signs Bill Repealing Obama’s Lame-Duck Coal Regulation
By Sundance, 02/16/2017

Another Campaign Promise Fulfilled – People’s President Trump signs a resolution of disapproval bill today eliminating one of President Obama’s last minute regulations intended to cripple the coal industry.

Prior to signing the repeal, President Trump held a brief presser with legislators and some very happy coal miners. WATCH:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAvbPPf-NPI

The bill, called a resolution of disapproval, was passed by the Senate and House using special powers under the Congressional Review Act to reverse regulations imposed by a President during the lame duck session.

Be sure to watch the video; P45 invites coal miners to participate in the signing ceremony, invites them to the podium to speak, and then invites them all to a personal tour the Oval Office.

Bravo.

Yes; Thank You Jerry, for putting that link up to the press conference. When I first clicked on it, I intended to just watch a couple of minutes, but I got drawn in by the President's comments. I was totally captivated by the Q&A period where several members of the press proved themselves to be complete horse's asses.

I like how the President handled the conference. It just renews my belief that he probably is the best man for the job at the present time.

And; who woulda thunk it; a politician who has kept his campaign promises! And in record time, no less.

That's the best part - P45 isn't, by definition, a "politician". He holds political office...but that's about as far as it goes.

He doesn't do things because he owes favors to special interests.

He doesn't do things because somebody says he "should".

He's not a puppet with strings that go...somewhere else.

He's just "a guy", who's made promises and is taking action based on common sense and the best interests of the country and its citizens. Granted, "just a guy" worth billions of dollars...but how else to fund and fight through the system without being indebted to a puppeteer or a special interest?

I love his frank responses. Common sense. Call a spade a spade (or a reporter a liar, or an industry corrupt, or an ex-opponent a criminal). THAT is what our press should be doing - it is what it is, it isn't what it isn't, and the CONSUMER has to decide which is good and which is bad. But they're not, because they're in the DNC's pocket.

And he calls them out on it all through this conference.

I hope that theme continues.

Not only did he call them out repeatedly, he made the good point that "the public doesn't trust you anymore; you're going to lose market share; you should try being honest and doing your job right for a while and see how it goes". And that is the businessman in him - tell the folks at the table where everything stands; be clear about positions; end on a positive note. As in..."this can be fixed, but the parties need to agree to XYZ..."

I also started watching on a whim. I was scrolling through my TV channel menu during a commercial and saw the listing. Figured "what the hell, let's see what's up today". Like Crusty, I got sucked in and next thing I knew it was an hour later!

I am worried about the "enemy within" - that type of subversiveness scares me to death because it's MY country and MY livelihood at stake. But I admit, I feel a lot better about things after watching P45 in action. He gets it. He knows this stuff is going on. He's not hiding from it. He's not afraid to call it out; to bring it to the forefront; to speak candidly about it.

And someone who does that...also won't be afraid to take action about it when it's time.

Let's drain the swamp!!

Anyone who hasn't watched yesterday's conference...please do. Trump supporter or no, it is a very good insight into the common-sense man who is running our country for us.

I only saw a few clips of the news conference. It was being discussed at work this morning however. People seemed to think that he needs to learn to tone things down a bit. Then it was pointed out how refreshing his candor is, and everybody is in enthusiastic agreement. I think people are just not used to this sort of candor from a high level politician. The concept of inviting the press into a room to be berated is kind of appealing to me though. They have f^cking earned it!

Just as Donald predicted, they called it a rant.

What I saw was polite, factual, and as friendly as anything you could expect from anyone.

Quite a contrast from the Barry reaction to any question that questioned HIM! Anything outside the mantra given to the press each day got a scathing look of hatred and disgust.

If Obama had been asked the same kind of questions he would have walked out in a huff and the reporter kicked out of the pool, and his bosses pressured to fire him.

Plus, the reporter would have been hacked and put under secret illegal surveillance by the FBI. ( Not a joke. It happened when a reporter insisted on actually reporting Obama's crimes. )

The Lame Duck Timeline Strongly Suggests President 0bama Set Up Intelligence Scheme To Undermine Trump
By Sundance, 02/17/2017

Jay Sekulow outlines the case [Video Here] that President 0bama set-up a plan for the intelligence community to target President Trump.

Specifically through the use of a lame-duck executive order, President 0bama authorized multiple intelligence agencies to have access to Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), including phone call intercepts.

quote:

(Via ACLJ) […] First, as the New York Times reported earlier this week, in its final days the Obama Administration expanded the power of the National Security Agency (NSA) to share globally intercepted personal communication with the government’s 16 other intelligence agencies before applying any privacy protections.

The new rules were issued under section 2.3 of Executive Order 12333 after approval by two 0bama Administration officials: Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Director of National Intelligence Director, James Clapper.

...The changes initiated by the 0bama Administration in its waning days empowered far more agents and officials to search through raw intelligence data. As a direct consequence of the change in policy, it appears that the prospect of intel leaks grew exponentially. Attorney General Loretta Lynch signed the new rules permitting the NSA to disseminate raw signals intelligence information on January 3, 2017 after Director of National Intelligence James Clapper signed them on December 15, 2016.

The Real Crime in the Michael Flynn Saga
By Cully Stimson and Hans von Spakovsky, 02/16/2017

Washington is abuzz with the saga of former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s resignation, the Russia connection, and the melodrama of who knew what, when, and what they did about it.

There are, to be sure, myriad aspects of this story that will consume the media, the Hill, civil society, and the like for a while.

We want to highlight one—and only one—serious aspect of this story that has been underreported: the unauthorized (and criminal) leaks of highly classified information to the media by a person or persons in the government. [emphasis mine - FB]

The following paragraph really jumped out at me in an article I received today from the Patriot Post:

quote:

Remember Evan McMullin, the former CIA agent and third-party “Republican” candidate who opposed Trump? He has now made opposing Trump his full time job. Just keep in mind that it’s possible McMullin is one of the conduits for the CIA leaks designed to damage Trump.

^ Wow! McMuffin?!?

The Patriot Post goes on to say:

quote:

In any case, Trump is correct to call out the mainstream media for its continued negative, antagonistic and dishonest reporting. Much of the media has become little more than a leftist propaganda machine and a willing accomplice in what may best be described as Barack 0bama’s shadow government. [emphasis mine - FB]
