Maybe they just got tired of doing the "Weekend at Bernies" routine with him.

I had the news on for a short time today. They were interviewing Cubans on the street in Miami. The consensus seemed to be that it was a joyous day. Pretty much a celebration going on with the Cubans. If only our young college students, wearing their Che T-shirts, could understand what these people understand.

They also said that both Trump and BO made statements about his death today. Very different tones taken by them.

I think the world is a slightly better place today.

Per npr...... some Cubans thought he was a dictator.

Npr. Where they are convinced Stalin could have made a go of Communism. .... if only he'd been as smart as they are.

Wonder whether Barack will attend the funeral.

Since he opened up relations with the Communists Raul might consider it a diss if Obama skips. On the other hand Americans of Cuban descent will raise hell if he goes and who could blame them.

If his words above are accurate notice the ambiguity, typical of the wishy-washy style of his demeanor.

Hey if he goes it's another selfie opportunity. Worse f-ing president ever and a disgrace to America, problem is he thinks he's a god....

Obama's an a-hole

He's totally fvcking clueless about world events, leaders and how they shape . . and threaten . . our existence.

This guy could not make a decision or lead if his life depended on it . . . unfortunately OUR'S does.

We survived him for 8 years . . . now get this Chicago dope-smoking street punk the hell out of The White House.

. . . . .I'm still trying to form an opinion. :-)

If you are curious (as I was) about how the NAACP / Black Panthers / Deacons ended up aligned with Cuba and other third world dictators, here is a sincere first hand account.

In short, the US rule of law failed them, and things went wrong from there, and of course the USSR was happy to fund anything that would create havoc in the US, and that would highlight genuine US moral shortcomings.

I think Obama should attend the celebration of Fidel's life & times.

Airforce One & SS should leave while he's making his speech.

I'm sure he can catch a ride home with one of his buddy celebritards.

( The above is obviously a joke. None of the fine members of the US Airforce Or Secret Service would abandon their duties like that or any other way. Doesn't mean I don't want to see it happen.)

“While controversial, Darth Vader achieved great heights in space construction & played a formative role in his son’s life,” quipped Jason Markusoff, a correspondent for Canada’s Maclean’s magazine.

Canadian sports commentator Mike Hogan added: “Today we mourn the loss of Norman Bates, a family man who was truly defined by his devotion to his mother.”

Australian news columnist Rita Panahi wrote, “Although flawed, Hitler was a vegetarian who loved animals, was a contributor to the arts & proud advocate for Germany.”

No, Ignorance is weakness. It's an invitation to being made a slave.

That's why evil people burn books.

Makes the people less of a threat.

I don't see the problem with what Obama said. Yea out of context it looks bad, but Obama has been trying for years to improve relations with Cuba, and you don't go about that by calling their president's recently deceased brother the piece of crap that he is. Obama's speech feels neutral and unbiased to me, which is what we need in a leader, not someone who antagonizes and jeopardizes a delicate relationship.

I agree that Obama's remarks are neutral. I disagree that neutrality is good policy.

Seeking relationship with brutal totalitarian dictators only legitimizes and empowers them while demoralizing their opposition. The Cuban people deserve better.

Obama reliably implements bad foreign policy. You can pretty much name the nation, and his policy concerning it will be harmful to us and our allies and comforting to our enemies. He's all about bringing us down and the rest of the world up, at our expense. See TPP and the Paris Climate Accord.

Yup. We don't need Cuba. They need us. They need to reform their ways if they want any type of relationship with the US. Letting the ruling class of Cuba get economic benefits from having a relationship with the US while oppressing their own people is not a positive in my book.
