Frickin cool! I'd be more interested in a 'copter set-up for flying and hovering though, kinda like Tony Stark... until the batteries and motors get sophisticated enough, that's pie in the sky.

Small turbines have been around for a while now for RC airplanes. Looks like they just grabbed 4 units off the shelf and built carbon wings. Pretty cool, and not that big of a technological leap. I don't say that trying to diminish what they've done, but to point out that it's within the reach of fairly average thrill seekers. It's just an assembly of common technologies, done in a new way. I'm not totally clear on how the flight controls work though. Is it just by moving their legs in the air stream?

There are reasons I never got into jet powered wing skydiving.

They didn't exist when I was jumping. I can't afford it now, so I couldn't have then, and now I no longer believe I'm physically immortal.

But If I'd won the lotto and they existed back then.........
