After reading what Reg Kittrelle wrote, I'm really getting psyched up about the Black Lightning. In about 2 1/2 weeks, I'll get to sit on one. I both hope I have the same reaction that Reg had and hope I hate it. If I hate it, I won't destroy all my plans by buying one. But If I really love it, I might do something foolish, like buying one. Oh, golly! Then I'd have to ride around on it, and I wouldn't be able to afford to travel like I have been. |

That's GREAT to see Reg's review . . . few people can move from bike to bike . . brand to brand and profess real knowledge of all. Reg can. And . . . He can back it up on the bike. WOW ! . . . |

Thanks Hugh! DANG if that's not a super-sexy machine... if, no WHEN, Erik puts out some kind of ADV/Ulysses type bike, that Hypnotoad might just give me the stink-eye!

I'm loving all the little blacked out bits like the rear sets and sprocket. Looks like they are using Knight's footpegs. |

Looks like they are using Knight's footpegs. It does. Erik apparently has those pegs on his personal 1190SX; you could see them on in those 650ib videos that were posted a few months back. A couple of guys on Facebook picked up on the pegs, and were about to buy some for their 1190's. One of the guys from EBR posted that the Knight pegs available at that time would not fit without modifications. I wonder if EBR changed the mounts or if Knight modified their pegs for EBR? I saw it at the Long Beach IMS last weekend and actually was there just in time for Erik's unveiling. I don't get it. It looks just like a SX but blacked out. |

I will preface this by saying I have never considered a Ducati until I saw this in Long Beach. The white is beautiful and the LED running light is trick. Even the exhaust is a keeper. Ergos are very close to my 1125R. Only drawback is 113HP... I don't get it. It looks just like a SX but blacked out. Lower suspension for 2" lower seat height, 1" lower pegs, 2" taller bars, and lower gearing. Nothing dramatic, but significant changes. |

Only 71 ft lbs of torque? That's cute. Probably make a nice commuter. |

Only 71 ft lbs of torque? That's about the same as a 13 year old XB9, IIRC. |

I just noticed an interesting carry-over from Buell. The following number appears on the page at erikbuellracing.com where you can make a deposit to pre-order a new Black Lightning. I'd guess it's the complete model number for the bike: 2017.1190SXCG.USA.ES.Z000.CR00 So it looks like the Black Lightning is technically an 1190SXCg. Cool! |
