http://www.aimexpousa.com/aimexpo-moves-columbus-2 017/ Pretty nice write up about Columbus. Hopefully we can get some Buellers together next year for some sort of something. September weather in Columbus for the most part is pretty nice. It can be a little warm in the day and get kinda cool in the evenings. There is some great riding just south east of here in the Hocking Hills. Ya never know what else might be going on while you are here. There are several concert venues, Nationwide Arena, The Columbus Zoo... tons of stuff to do. You must stop in and do some shopping at Iron Pony! Hope to see some of you next year! |

Don't forget the Motorcycle Hall of Fame, which is well worth an hour. And only an hour to Wright Patterson Air Force Museum. |

Yeah those museums are nice. Dayton has a Valkyrie bomber. AMA had Ed Hertfelder's beatdown XR600 in the basement too. I'm not sure which one I enjoyed seeing most |

Is Dave Barr's bike on display at the AMA Museum? I know it wasn't, then it was, not sure if it still is. It was fun to help wheel it in the front door to deliver it to them... |

They rotate their display a good bit. Its been a few years back, but the theme was "entertainers" and the like. They had Neil Pearts gold plated drum kit on display with a big sign that said do not touch.... I touched it |

A few years back, I was at the New York IMS show, and Joe Petralli's Knucklehead Land Speed Bike was on display. I had a nice and informative conversation with the guy who was at the display, and I asked him if I could just touch it. I wanted to just feel it for myself. He said yes and I actually got to put my hand on such an historical machine. It's a memory I won't forget. |

^Drums in the background on right. Don't recall if I touched that Queensryche Uly, but at the Road America races over Homecoming in 2015 (I think), I found the 2nd Valencia Orange set the painter was working with for the project - and bought it for stupid cheap money. I really like the Cherry Bomb Red better and wished that's what it was, but what can you do when there were so few to begin with? But I digress on this threadjack, 1313 |

Nice to see they're finally hosting this event some place OTHER than Orlando BUT... I wish it coincided with the AMA Congress meeting. Then I'd have a REAL reason to be in Columbus (I've been one of the District 34 alternates for many years now, but I've only HAD to attend the meeting once when one of our primaries wasn't available). As an alternate, I always have the option of going, but other than that one time I haven't gone. |
