For the next few months, I'm going to have very little "disposable income". The problem is that I need to come up with a bookshelf size CD player. I'd like to get something of fairly good quality, but at this point, I even have to budget to buy new socks and underwear. So, knowing the diverse skills that are available here on BadWeB, I figure that I might as well ask for advice on what's a good, small CD system that doesn't cost much. | ||

John, I've got an old boom box with a cd player, cassette deck, and remote control. It's basic, holds 1 cd at a time. It works just fine, but since I got a bluetooth speaker for my phone, I just can't see myself ever using it. I'll ship it to you for free, if you will accept it. | ||

Well, that's about as low bucks as anyone could ask. I accept your offer. The other day, I went on Youtube to listen to a Dylan song that I particularly enjoy, and now it's no longer available. Copyright violation or some other silly reason. So I guess I'll just have to dig my CDs out of Storage and start listening to them. | ||

I'll ship it out from my office tomorrow. edit: The tape deck no longer functions. I'm glad to see this radio go somewhere it will get some use. The CD player sounds and works great, it has buttons to "expand" the sound and it has a bass boost feature as well. Flavor of- Super kewl! Good on ya Matthew! I'd go bonkers without my music... been enjoying a few days with the wackadoo out playing in Tunica, she's on her way home now. She's bringing some Martin's BBQ brisket home from Nashville, yum... and I've got the rest of the day to crank the jams or go MC riding. Doin both! Crusticle, I was gonna suggest that you go look around your local Goodwill or Habitat stores- mine always have a few very cheap, fairly nice components available. I picked up a great 5 CD Technics turntable unit, which has the random/mix option, and you can change CDs on the fly. But, good buddy Matthew's got yer back!  | ||
