Test rode the new Triumph T120 today and really felt comfortable on it! If I was going to purchase a new motorcycle today, this one would be my choice! Very smooth and quiet! The transmission was so smooth operating and I wasn't use to that! Harley motors have noisy and hard transmissions that I've almost become to expect all motorcycles to be like that but the Triumph was totally different! So I jumped on my clunker, my 06 Uly and rode home, it still has lots more hp and raw low end torque than the Triumph but I'm not really into that stuff now days. |

Triumph makes amazing motorcycles and have a great culture. I remember Triumph extended a heartfelt condolence when Buell shut down. |

I recently purchased a 2002 Thunderbird. It was love at first ride. I'd gotten to the stage where I wasn't using my Uly to it's potential so I traded it for a Honda CB500X. The Honda is ideal for my commuting needs but the Triumph really "speaks" to me. A great gearbox, smooth engine and enough get up and go to keep me interested. If I'd had the $$$ I'd have bought the new Bonneville. Chris C |

I remember Triumph extended a heartfelt condolence when Buell shut down. Yea, that was pretty cool. IIRC, one or two key Buell employees went to work for Triumph after the closure. |

I've got a 2013 T-100 mostly for short trips and local use. I prefer it over my Harley. Fun little bike with character. It's been trouble free so far. |

My friend Joe who is known by anyone who's been to an event at Two Wheels of Suches in the last few years, recently purchased a 2016 T120.He likes it a lot.He rides mountain roads on it daily. It handles well,is smooth, shifts great and has plenty of power. We also have a friend who is one of the local fast guys that bought a 2016 Thruxton and has nothing but good to say about it. |

I like Triumphs a lot but only have experience with the triples. The new water cooled Bonneville line up looks great and from what I've read they did their homework and got just about everything right. Triumph's parts prices are absurdly high, just so you know. |

When my Indian is paid off I'm gonna get another Bonnie as a stablemate for the mighty Roadmaster. I haven't ridden one of the water cooled ones yet but if they're as good or better than my 2011 T100 was I know it's gotta be great. |

The Ulysses has WAY better suspension components and more travel too! Not to mention no valves, chain or coolant to mess with... Though, the Thruxton R speaks to me. But not to the tune of 15k, added maintenance and weight. I could accept the price and maintenance, but not the weight... So the Ulysses will remain for another year. My Ulysses has much more power and a loud rumble to it over the Bonneville but at my old age that isn't as important to me now days. I was just really impressed with everything about that test ride yesterday. It's the best all round motorcycle replacement for the Uly in my books! |

If only the SX had basis and a windshield There was a photo of a factory SX with a windshield and soft bags here on Badweb a while back. Erik's personal SX has taller bars and lowered footpegs. Lots of people are interested in such accessories, so I really believe that either a more Sport Touring model is coming, or the accessories to change an SX into one will be available. Then again, I'm the nut job who won't shut up about wanting a Sport Tourer. |

>>>> I'm the nut job who won't shut up about wanting a Sport Tourer. Don;'t feel alone . . . folks have been singing that song since the introduction of the Uly . . . the photoshopped Uly with an 1190 motor and . . .perhaps best of all . . the "vapor AX" . . . when folks stood at the door for years awaiting something that wasn't coming. If you want a touring SX . . . you can have one. But, it will likely have to be the same way Erik got his . . take an SX and make it whatever you want. Wonder if any of the 2016 models have been converted to sport tourers? |

Don, Take a look at the 2014+ Yamaha Super Tenere. 110 hp, 6 speed, shaft, adventure model, cruise control, adjustable windshield, traction control, touring or sport mode. I'm getting near 50 mpg on mine. Bob |

Yeah; but the factory (all 15 of them) has more resources and much higher levels of skills than I have. I could do something, I suppose; I made the Roadster into almost my vision of a Sport Touring H-D. However, I've found that as a general rule that if the factory does it, they do a better job. |

I got to ride a super ten. I cant say enough about how much I respect the bike. But I didn't like riding it. Purely a personal preference thing, no judgement from me. Like I said, what they have achieved with the thing is freaking awesome. And I suspect I would ride a BMW GS and feel the same way, awed with respect, and completely uninspired by riding it. Which probably just means I don't really like proper sport tourers. I want a naked bike that is adapted to tour. |

The factory . . .historically . . has done a great job. But . . what was once EBR is now LAP . . . lock, stock (100% of the stock) and barrel. LAP is in the business of grooming and positioning their "liquid asset" for sale to an interested investor. They are unlikely to develop ANYTHING. I'm still looking for 2016 bikes. My bet is they will not make anything that they don't have 100% certainty they can sell. To date, they appear, from a motorcyclists perspective . . to have done little more than to re-inspire a tad of confidence to allow a couple dealers to move some of the unsold 2014 inventory. I think they are GREAT bikes and GREAT people . . . but LAP ain't likely to be pumping 15 bikes a day out the east door. I could be wrong and . . if so . . am eager to be corrected. |

I appreciate them giving the brand and it's infrastructure some time to recover, even if they don't put a single bike out the door. And even if they ultimately fail. |

Court just how many new EBR's have been made under LAP? There doesn't seem to be any dealer network and the one dealer in Milwaukee doesn't even list them on their website! I haven't seen any mention of Hal's becoming an EBR dealer either! Ukes is totally getting out of the sport bikes because they dropped KTM. Woodstock HD carries Triumph and KTM but said they weren't going to sell EBR's and they use to! So I'm just wondering if anything is going to become of EBR. My riding days are starting to gradually come to an end so I doubt if I'll be purchasing any new motorcycle but that test ride on the Triumph TR120 sure did get me liking one! |
