That "Epic Cosmic Coincidence" happened in 2003. But it wasn't that everybody joined on that day...There was some sort of screw up in the system, and everybody's post count went to zero, and everybody's sign up date was reset to that day.

That happened in 2003?!?! Way to make me feel old!!! It sure doesn't seem like it's been quite that long.

Not everyone's was reset...mine says December 28, 2001 - just sayin',

The date can be manually changed to whatever we want should it be desired. I'm not sure if Blake or someone manually changed the dates on the accounts back to what they were or if there was some way to recover some of the accounts back then.

I tried using the Wayback Machine to see some profiles to find some with dates before the server eruption, but the oldest one I found was Rick_a's and it was several months later in Nov 2003.

Thank you Wolf!

Frank, We started out at BadWeB.com slash something before moving up to our own server. Try the way back site for that maybe.

It's been a joy maturing with the site and making so many friends. So many of the people here are genuinely exceptional, each in their own way, and y'all make our little corner of the Internet an uplifting place to visit.

Remind me to tell you some day. : )

I do miss some who've moved on, even those few who've parted on less than amicable terms. I still keep in touch with Bomber and Henrik on Facebook, and Charlotte stops by now and again.

Thanks for everything, and especially to my fellow unshakable custodians past and present. I know I don't thank you enough.

I bought my first Harley in 1977, then spent a good bit of money and effort trying to make them faster and handle better. Saw a Buell at Daytona Bike Week in the early 90's and was intrigued. Test rode a Cyclone at Bike Week in 2000 and was hooked. Bought a used 1999 Cyclone in the summer of 2000. I was living in Georgia at the time and ran across Bad Weather Bikers on the internet and signed up around 2001. I moved to WV and didn't have internet until 2003. I put 43,000 miles on that Cyclone with the knowledge and help from you guys. Isolators, rockerbox gaskets, belt, swingarm and steering head bearings were replaced with your help. In 2008 I traded the Cyclone in on a 2009 Uly. It's a great bike but sometimes I wish I still had that Cyclone...

I don't post often but get a great deal of enjoyment reading everything you guys write.

Ride Safe.
Jerry

I am such a newbie. June 2008, right around when I bought an '06 XB...sight unseen, from a badwebber down in Florida. No regrets!

I sure have had some fun.... and this is one of my favorite "Having fun" pics.

This was taken on the cool down lap after I won my first race at Nelson Ledges.
It had rained off and on all morning during practice and I was running rain tires for the first time.
I kept pushing it to see how fast I could go before the ass end tried to become the front end.
It was very surprising how fast you could go before it started to break loose.
When race time came the rain had stopped but the track was still wet but drying.
I was the only one to pull up on the grid with rains still on the bike. I thought I had screwed up... I was wrong about that.
When we went into turn one everyone almost parked it. I was able to work my way to the front and I was gone. Running through the standing water to keep the tires cool I left everyone in my mist. I think this was one of the best "Bueller" days ever for me.
Because of Badweb, I would have people show up to help in the pits and give hand signals during the race. It was a ton of fun!

I really, really like you guys and am very happy to call you my friends.
To bad we are scattered all over hell's half acre and only get to cross paths every so often.

I sure have put some pounds on since this pic was taken...

Sure can agree with you about that BadWeB bunch.

You should have worn those leathers for the wedding. Would have been the same misfit I had with my fancy jacket!

You are lucky to be like me.....I'm so pretty even being fat cannot make me ugly!

The first Buell I rode was while waiting for my first service to be done on my 91 FLHS at Dale's Harley in Mt. Vernon Il. I was looking at the Buell when the salesman asked me if I wanted to ride it while I waited. Sure! I don't even remember the model and I don't know if it was new or not. I remember it had the iron head sporty motor and a four speed. It was geared so tall that I had to slip the clutch all way across an intersection! What I remember most is when I got out of town and looked at a curve it was already starting to lean! Man would it go around a corner! I should have bought it but I had just bought the Harley and didn't have the funds. I went back and sat on all the newer models but they just didn't fit my long legged ass! Until the Uly! I bought a left over 06 in 07. I'm sure I found you guys within a year or so of that.

Saying goodbye, 18 hours before going to prison.

While I was in there, Joanne Lighton would print out message threads from BadWeB and mail them to me, so I could stay abreast of whatever was going on.

This is the best forum on the web, for lots of reasons. Reason #1, it's home.

I don't know how long I've been here but it's been a while for sure. I only log on a couple of times a year anymore. I really need to change that. Been to a few of the shin-digs but usually didn't mingle too much since I'm not really good at it,however, not once did any of you weirdos ever throw rocks at my wallflower self (although I think some wanted to when I said that The Dinosaur BBQ sucked). Thanks for that, you guys are OK.

If it makes you feel better, HHR 2016 won't end at the Dinosaur. Hope you can make it.

Bought my 98 S1W in 2003. I think I have been around this place since 2003 or 2004. Went to March Badness II. Haven't been the same since!!

Met a lot of people along the way. Got inspired to race (thanks Wolf!), got help with bike issues, led 15 or so Bullers across the Cherohala Skyway in thick fog, helped in race pits, had people show up at my race pits and helped Glitch "ride" the roads of GA in my Ural Side car.

Don't race anymore (hope to change that). Don't post much anymore, mostly lurk. But that doesn't change the friends I have made and the great times I have had!!

Thanks Blake!!
